………. Eleganza got up early so I don’t have the wake her up as usual…..i get to sit in the better chair and post
The next intake was put in hover mode yesterday……..already sporting its quad bag system my guys Ricky will go after the “B’s &B’s” here.bearings and brakes……..you MUST have all new Timken bearings/races and seals on the rear wheels and the fronts need to be checked out. Brakes? All new everything……..stay tuned, I’ll try and get some pics of the project..
Before you is the new and improved “bubonic man” Gadaboutone of 5 Coke giveaway prizes now has been improved. Of course doing nothing to what makes this coach the bees knees of Coke memorabiliaNo, the “restomod” changes are in things you can’t seeit’s under here…….Yeah baby……FiTech fuel injection, an all new distributer (NOT talking to the fuel injection system btw…………so some of you will say why not connect the distributer electronics to the fuel injection computer…..i mean hey….why not, let’s it do this and that and all kindsa things. Guys, I want to keep the on the side of the road diagnostics why the motor stopped back like it was with the carb…….Do I have fuel…..look down the throat…..do we have Fire….a screw driver an a spark plug will tell you that. So connecting the throttle body to the distributer operations throws that diagnostic concept right out the door.
No if but WHEN you break down on the road all that interconnection will make you diagnosis much more difficult. It will not give you more power, better mileage and will have no effect on how women love yyou………any more…….what i mean is unless YOU are going to be the maintenance maven on the system it needs to be easy to diagnose and fix….when you never expected anything to happen!!
Primary set-up on FiTech fuel injection systems keeps the GM styled simple HEI distributer for ignition (we always install a new one) as you saw in the pic above.
The Gadabout now also has its new single aluminum fuel tank, I think the bearings and brakes (B’s & B’s) are complete so it not long before leaving…….stay tuned ……….
Listen, I know that stuff I said about segregating the ignition from the fuel delivery system is going to turn many heads……many of you out there have such rigs and I say if its working for you, you’re happy with it AND you know enough to diagnose and fix it in the rain at night on the side of the highway…….awesome. But if you’re not I would gather manuals and replacement parts lists and stay prepared.
Of all the issues we all have worked through incorporating the FiTech system to out Motorhomes was something you should expect when you bring in New technologies. But I feel with the new “Forced Fuel” deliver system tied to the stand alone fuel injection system we’ve cured the problems with out 4 1/2 ” deep fuel tanks AND kept from cutting down our diagnostic tree! For me….could be the guy trying to fix things…..i want this.
Ok, now that maybe some have picked up a few thongs and other got their nose in a bunch I should probably stop while I’m ahead.
Seriously guys, the new technology fuel injection systems are obviously the next step…….Like the Bangles once said in a song, “Video killed the radio star”…… Fuel injection killed the carberater star” history repeats itself……
See ya tomorrow
A water leak at the door from last night’s “frog stangler” but they made the night. First night in a GMC, I’ll give details…….
