The cate was equally disturbed when I took out from the house at 4AM, the song that always sticks in my head when I do stuff like this is Bob Segar’s “Up with the sun, out with the wind… they always said I was crazy….”
Sometimes though things must be done and it sure would be cheaper to have the coach brought to us, I had a coach on the west coast of Florida some 2 1/2 hours away that just had to get over here. John D. had left his coach at his sons place, we have work to do on it before April 20 so it had to be retrieved and guys….
I have to stop here a minute and just let you know I’m being pulled so thin and that my “social networking” of here, Patreon, answering Emails, texts much less phone messages that are really way down on the list…. I’m struggling with trying to focus so if you try and contact me and nothing happens heck just call me… I can talk and chew gum at least and if you went out of your way to try and contact me I sure want to hear what you’re saying …. so just call me on the cell phone for a while, I can maybe help more for this short time it’s this way… OK?…… back to the story.
So I loaded up “Ralph” my trust 365,000 mile Suzuki for a recovery mission! I needed to get in and out before the Tampa, Orlando and Disney traffic carlocked e on the hiway forever! In by 6, out by 7am and I could live… so with an eggamuffin and a Coke I took off…. on time, the coach was in is son’s sideyard on 2×12 blocks… smart man but the instant the wheels left the blocks e ere in up to the lug nut! One thing bout Florid…. stamp your feet for 2 minutes and you’ll probably be standing in a mud puddle! OK, John’s son got out of his pj’s and we started digging nd planking…. you know the drill! No good, the more it rocked the deeper the other wheels were rutting….. And there it is “There’s no need to fear… Under-Ralph is here” . I pulled out the jerk strap I always carry, put him in 4 lo, locked the hubs and as soon as put on the coals that 28′ stretch pulled right out of the muck! As Will Smith once said “I gotta get me one of these….!”. Well, I’ve got one of those and lemme tell ya, “Ralph, m6Szuki Sidekick, automatic, 4wd w bub locks, towable on all 4’s with a tow bar…. you gotta have one of these !!!!! Anyway…. I hooked up Ralph to the coach, fired that mother up and shot Tampa traffic… the 3 of us and it was a grand ride…. 60mph, letm go by, I was enjoying myself… A Mac Dadd dash, My big boy burl/leather/chrome steering wheel and the FITech fuel injection system…… a great way to work….
his story is already to long for today… spoiler alert was it ran like the expected rocket and other than mud on the drive wheel the run was pretty much uneventful
That probably emptied that first cup of coffee, go get another and lets get to business….
Did a Patreon video yesterday on the progress on Rosses “brng back to the road” proect and something important that he understands and you really must too. If you’re interested here is the motor in final assembly… go to “Motorhome Rehab Ranch” and get the details…
… AND THERE’S MORE….. Chuck C. brought his project coach back in for a little more of “our work” on his project. He’s a pretty fair ta midland wood guy and his dream is to build back up the coach he took his girls around to high school stuff back in the day. Chuck had purchased a Honda EV-6010 generator close to a year back waiting for the time to put her in… that’s now so getting the ole troll out and preparing the compartment we found a new issue…
Well, as you can see the original foam insulation pad was past toast into a crouton and the generator finally found it’s place to squat there on one of our palates
Looking closer though I got a chill…. if squirrels were an endangered Florida species Chuck would have been charged with disturbing their nest!
Now is that the only city… or are there more? opening the dash was a shock
More acorns and chewed wires! Oh crap…. not bad that I can see but it all has to be checked….
So remember a couple of days ago I was talking about “chipmonk cheeks”, go back, take a look at Andy T. side panels above the front wheels and compare it to this
How? Ahhhh….. ancient Chinese secret…. maybe I’ll show you on Pareon… stay tuned and if this is the stuff you want to see, support us on “Motorhome Rehab Ranch”.
Sad day, we sold the “Army Rat” as it was named by it’s new owner…. man that was a blast to build . and we got in this very rare and nice 73 Mach I something like an A2 Cleveland 4 speed or something.. I’m not as much of a Ford guy as I should be …. it’s here for a complete, accurate interior… Oh boy!
like I said I need to get into Fords more, Jared our labor manager is and it’s good.. we have to 76 Ford pickups going on.. this one is “where are we going to stop!
the transfer case too!
OK…. so yeah, while I’m gone the shop still functions…. what a great thing and guys out there with stuff being done in here, we’re getting better every day…. but I still will NOT reduce our quality and detail to speed….. ain’t gonna happen and I know all of you agree too. See ya tomorrow and check out “Motorhome Rehab Ranch” and support us if ya have a mind to….
