The Co-op, We’re still here…

In fact, I would like to recognize how the emergency folks put their arms around this community.  New weather technology and communication everyone was ready.  No problems at our house, never lost power.  I have a few branches down which I couldn’t reach… good deal.

And the shop…..  Arriving before dawn, the first look is OK  10-8-16-morning-after-7

Nosed to the north wind backed up by the 30′ high building north wall with another 30′ wall in front of them…. all our boys faired well.  Hey, preparation was everything.  Got a call from our new owner from Switzerland.  You know that exercise where you pass a phrase around a circle to see how it got changed…… Andy, American press only talks about “dirty laundry”.  You will never here from that far away ….. everything is fine and the beer is still cold…”.

You MUST prepare yourself or possibly show off your intelligence…. no rocket scientist here but being an actual gator lovin Floridian, still it never hurts to be prepared because I HAVE been like one of those lizards on your hood!   The fun of it gets cut short when it keeps going… so we absolutely took this weather threat seriously and things went well.  Of the construction of this and surrounding buildings, we seem to have a pretty secure spot.  Even Mr. Hunter and his minions did very well  10-8-16-morning-after-6  The camera was shaking, sorry.  Even our suspect trees on the east with the body panel trailer under it did OK.   10-8-16-morning-after-5

Coming up from the back to Miss Piggy…. the last defense tire stack at the back was still in place….. 10-8-16-morning-after-3

Hurrying around to a full side view my fears were dashed …….  10-8-16-morning-after-2

THAT’S of course if you call Miss Piggy “has no damage” but how about all the damage is still in place, covered, kinda dry but safe!  I can tell you we are going to take a half day and get all this crap put away.  We were caught… ants carrying the whole cake away on the concrete! Guys..pick up the pieces and hi tail back to the mount…..  Return to base, Over…

Our new 4″ aluminum culvert worked 10-8-16-morning-after-4 hey and the sump pump actually kept working ……praise be to Harbour Freight….  10-8-16-morning-after-1

I guess my walk through says we are good to go! It is Saturday and I cant lame at all the guys for making it a slow morning after the prties and clean up their yards.  Some my come in and I’ll be here….  The Co-op is back on line….. thanks for your concern…

So while it may be a slow morning, I can sit back, relieved and plunk a little here…..

Next week will be neat, not being able to get away from here I had to change my plans about the Coos Bay Western States rally, Working with the organizer, Gary B., we setting up a “Skype seminar” so I CAN be there at least in some way.  If you’ve never been to a Skype seminar, it’s kinda neat.  I’ve done several with “Fire Fight Products” and it was a great way to have 2 way, real time communication …. and it’s kinda fun!  So for you guys going to the rally, I think we’re doing 2 or 3 maybe… be sure to make it to 1.  You other guys these Skype deals really do work well, you may want to consider things like this in the future.  We could have a virtual rally attendance.  My son was at our Christmas party … his face on the lap top and he had dinner with us!  Earey neat……?  That’s where communication is today and it’s here to stay and get bigger.

So, in the nidst of our cleanup, I’ll be speaking to you from our shop…. check it out.

The weather by virtue of Mother Nature stomping around somewhere else… our weather is going to be good.  Middle 80’s and no rain….  I’m thinking about yanking down any bad limbs across the back area before putting everything back.  Would be a good thing… we are out of space…. we need rescue space for these parts…. we need to keep the awesome work space and palatising program so some new space needs to be made….. stay tuned on that and of course all the other stuff around here…..   So we’re standing down from Defcon 5….. no need to push that big red shiney button and again, the Shire is safe……  Where is that yellow brick road again… we need to get going again… see ya later   ..
