The Co-op, took the weekend off

Though I’m confirmed Southern Baptist, I think if I were Catholic this is sort of a confessional conversation this morning……..  ” Forgive me Father for I have sinned….”

So yeah, I took a day off…. it’s true working 7 days makes things harder.  Janie has been so good here lately as my social director putting all of that on hold for me because right now it’s what I need to do…. still, I have been slowing down a bit lately, I feel like my “plate” is overfilled.  With our projects now on track Janie took me to the beach this weekend to get my head back on track now……

Here’s something you don’t see very often…. low tide at the beach, Sunday afternoon on a clear day…… big wind and 55 degrees but it has a beauty all it’s own  11-20-16-weekend-1  Alone on the beach with Janie…. Ahhh, I remember what time off used to be…. I like it……

Anyway yes, I played hookie, thank you Janie for the weekend, while I’ve been laboring here at the shop she’s been planning these time outs for me.

So focusing so much on specific projects, there are some other interesting things that you may be interested in.  Yes, I WILL work on other amchines…. I’m soft, these beasts are kinda neat  11-21-16-morning-1   This is a tailgate party machine…. she’s a bigun… 34.5′ of high CG flat bed driving……  See that shiney square there on the side…….. 9 hours per running foot of energy to get it to that finish…….holy crap!…. lets see…. 34.5×9.5×80=    $24,880.00 of buffing……. tell me you don’t wanna do that!!!!!!  Life is just too short!

Over the past 6 month, the guys have accomplished what I see as an impossible mission…. They have sifted, organized and mostly palletized all those 19 years of the GMC hoarding pieces/parts I’ve been doing.  Take a look at the white underbelly of what’s needed to be sure there are parts to keep these babies on the road:

11-21-16-morning-6  11-21-16-morning-3  11-21-16-morning-7  11-21-16-morning-8  11-21-16-morning-5  11-21-16-morning-4  I think we have the market cornered on original hub caps!

How bout the original radiator from the “full mechanicals” project.  The green at the bottom right of the core is not good….  full-mechanicals-project-29  A pile of discussion on this but I have original copper radiator cores rebuild the original……If you wanna know why give me a call.

We’re finally installing the vinyl top on the 57 Chevy stretch… wish us luck…  11-21-16-morning-2

Did I say it’s cold here in Florida… well to me it’s cold.  In the 50’s,  chilly!  See ya tomorrow…..
