The Co-op: Now, where did yesterday go?

I looked up and it was turning dark…. the day wizzed by.  I need to jump around a little and update some projects for the owners.  There’s more too.  It seems the shop has settled into a groove… I flip on the lights oh somewhere before 7….ok, maybe a little before that…..Jared..big dog rolls in just before 8 because at 7:58 it feels like a figure 8 race in the front because 8amm is,,,”the time in which you need to be at work” and this is a great groove to be in.  I only get a small period of time with you guys so I think we’ll break the mornings in 2 stages……. the insomniacs and the sane people who get up on time.  This way I can spend a little more time on issues and explainations.  Our video program is on sabbatical restructuring “Motorhome Rehab Ranch” they are still out there easier available through Utube so fo now I’ll try and do a little more here…..

So for you guys like me who can’t stay horizontal past 5:30…good morning.  Lemme show you a real sign of progress……… so I’ve been yanked back and forth up front…… this morning I see my beloved Amermac 711 tire truing machine has been used  2.20.18 morning 5 Kinda like crumbs in front of the cookie jar…still until this day I have been the only person I would trust to use this machine…….. truly a watershed moment!  Ahhhh, I see this coach getting new Converses    David’s coach now not only has new brakes, wheel bearings and a 2 wheel Ebrake system but now his quad bag is on 2.20.18 morning 2          And as soon as they are on, the coach rear comes out of the air…Honda generator in, holding tank and maserator in and now the rear suspension is good to go.2.20.18 morning 1  Hmmmmm, looks like our upholster is really busy…. a messy table, Wow, he must be shokin’  2.20.18 morning 6  I think those are a sofa recover.  Well OK then, drawing down the new dash AC in the green Ford….. red letter day….2.20.18 morning 8  Texas Tux is showing it’s butt for a good reason

2.20.18 morning 9.We yanked out these original ABS plastic grey and black holding tanks 2.20.18 morning 10  We are converting this rear bath Birchaven to a single rotomolded single holding tank used in the GM floorplan coaches.  A meserator system seems to work much better with a single holding tank system….. besides, those 40 year old poopy workers need a gold watch!

If you are one that really likes having a roof pod, you have a problem.  Other than the sleek Yakama type storage things, no one is still manufacturing big fat roof pods!  This roof pod had an older solar panel bolted to it.  It shouldn’t be a problem but after years of having that older heavy solar panel bolted down with 4 brackets……… the solar panel blew off the pod ripping out big holes in the pod  .

2.20.18 morning 7  Yep, because there are no new ones, we are repairing the plastic with Epoxy thick bodied adhesive.  The new panel is a super light, flexible panel…now we have to figure out how to not have that “flag” from waving!  2.20.18 morning 17  Follow this project…..

The soldier on the lift is getting some new pipes…and headers.  The old stuff well…….. needs one of those gold watches…. holy pipes and cracked manifolds….it’s all done .

2.20.18 morning 14.  If your exhause system has some age, it may make up a pile like this ….2.20.18 morning 15……I’ll give the coach some credit…the heat riser shroud had not rotted away…you don’t see many of these left!

OK… that’s it for the early risers, I’ll come back when we get the shop up and humming.

Talk to ya then ……………

OK….had breakfast, 2nd cup of coffee ………. maybe just up…Good Morning to you now too….  Yeah, us crazy early risers have already been here, this can be called Page 2 of this plunking…

2.20.18 morning 12 The young buck ,Cameron, of course gets the dirty work of chemical cleaning then wire clean and flatten the mate surfaces…….. good job man …

Here’s a good one….the Gator coach came in barely running.  Kinda like it still had a hangover it was sick  2.5.18 morning 2  A 1973, looking at the motor first it still had a points distributer.  Changed that and did a compression test……..all were in the 150’s.  Hmmmmmm, sounds a bit high for a low compression 455 that should run on regular gas……..  OK boys, lets stay on track…. what else…..  It’s got an Edelbrock carb…..EEEEYYYYyUUuuuuuu but lets take a look at it……….  it idles fin but backfires through the carb when it accelerates quickly.  OOooPPpppSsss.  The intake manifold crack has made it to the bottom of the insides…gotta fix that next   .2.20.18 morning 13  Getting that back from the machine shop I’m putting my known A-jet from my engine stand on and run it.  Without much direct knowledge on the carb….I need a known flame thrower!  Lets see what we find……

And finally today, our next batch of transmissions have been picked up.  John….. we’re ready……….

2.20.18 morning 18  Gotta go…. I’ll try this 2 page plunking idea tomorrow….. may work out, lets see…see ya then..
