The Co-op: Last work day of 2017…

The last work day in 2017…lemme say that again….Wow, hanging out a shingle in 1997 man it’s been a long tunnel…… and I still can’t tell what that light at the end of the tunnel really is.  We’ll just have to see where the pipe comes out but in between you have to have a good time so lets just focus on that……… At the end and the beginning of things you’re allowed to get a little thought provoking and I would say a bumper sticker on Marylin’s coach kinda sums it up for me going into 2018  … thanks for posting the one on the left… I’m talking about the one on the left …….Marylin-slots-2We restored this coach gosh…have to be 10 years ago  Marylin-glamour-1  Marylin came by this year…. the coach still looks greatfor-sale-loper-12 See, we come and go… the coaches withstand the test of time pretty well so it’s important for us all to be good stewards because we have these babes for a short time.

We built this coach over 20 years ago…. Luis in 3 she lived in the NY area, served it’s owners well and was passed on to a new owner.  Who wanting to do the right thing brought it back to freshen it up  12.30.17 morning 4 Here you see a new exhaust system replacing those parts that gave their all 12.30.17 morning 3  The headers showed their age but still sound everything from there back is renewed 12.30.17 morning 7Other steel undercarriage parts are now cleaned and protected with POR-15 and rubberized undercoating 12.30.17 morning 8  Preserving the undercarriage is important….. don’t care how good looking a coach is, if the frame is bad you really have nothing!

You have to be a good steward…. if the coach needs it… it needs it!  Walking through the shop this morning…..one restored coach supporting his owners and another proud Palm Beach coming back to the road…. it’s all very satisfying to me,12.30.17 morning 10If I don’t post tomorrow I want to thank all of you for your support this year.  There have been some challenges… many endure but hey, that’s life.  I wish anyone who has some bad feelings for us to give me a call……. the perception and reality of working with a 40 year old bugger like these thing is very difficult.  I would have to tell you the best you can hope for is someone who is willing to help….and I sure work my hardest for that.  So guys, lets make 2018 a year that comes together.  Treat others as you would like to be treated…….yeah I know BORING but really, things are what they are, it’s just how you look at them causes tension!  Chris Craft said it best to me, “Gentlemen, calm down and work the issue”.  Brings chills to me and when and when Rob M. poured that box of parts on the table in front of a roomful of engineers and they were told “make this fit into this.. with that”……. another chill!

Look guys, that’s what it’s all about… not meaning to belittle these facts but your budget has less to do than what the coach needs.  Everything will take more time and money than you thought…. but it did.  Why do things happen and stuff break…. because they can and remember everything you touch could be 40 years old.  It’s not what to do but where to stop! And no, I’m not nuts… you are for buying a new motorhome that will be worth poop in 10 years!

Viva la GMC!  Happy New year and thanks for a super last one!  Theres more to life than mpg 1.
