To add something to the recent talk I’ve been spewing… sorry if I got some of it on ya…. about the throng of would-be GMC owners and how each feels their search is unique…. let me show you a success story that all came down to doing your homework…… Also today’s post here is gonna be a long one for sure…. I thought Patreon would cut down my “ramble lust” but there is just so much I want to tell you. you may even want to come back in an hour or so and see some of the compolation… there are several subjects of one being the name for today’s plunder….. I think holding things back …. crating ann………..nnticipccccc…ipation………. why do that? Is it some irresistible urge to impress someone? Is it ego… I mean on TV it all builds to a ….. explosion of Oh-wow. I would hate for someone to put me in that position… maybe not but I think both parties should have worked closely enough together to create the masterpiece that trying to “blow smoke” is just hoopraa to me.
And the fact that I’m just stupid enthusiastic on doing neat things with this GMC platform….. now Bill, I felt maybe getting all of this OOOOOOhhhhhhhaaaaaa out of the way we could get more down to brass tacs.
Now for Bill… this is important…. how do you use, appreciate, maintain a vintage RV. Bill is a new motorhome and GMC owner too. His background in vintage vehicles is considerable showing concourse hot rods and all manner of Awesome rides…… it’s different to own a motorhome… yes it’s vintage but still it’s a motorhome! They are made to be outside… in the weather….. in the sun…. other people tracking in…. YOU tracking in…. there isn’t enough time and cleaner to maintain a motorhome interior like a concourse car! That said, The coach IS awesome so lemme stop here and show you what I’m talking about and Bill… here is your “Reveal”.
Where did these pics come from? There is 1 perk of building awesome machines… I get to take them all out once! Yes, and this was the weekend for Fandango. The “shakedown” the “punch list maker” when you take the beast out for the first night. You must understand… THINK of all the parts that could fail on this first drive since over a years renovation! It’s not a job for the skiddish lemme tell ya! So there’s my perk… lets see if there’s any smoke. You know letting the smoke out breaks everything… everything runs on smoke… right?
So it’s all done but the driving, Fandango is pointed toward the light of day Just one night out but so much to happen. Filling LP, gas tanks…. any leave there? Goo….. Check tire pressure and cycle the air ride system….. check…… APU (that’s technical lingo for generator)…. roger Capcom, Honda EV-4010 spooled up, inverter/charger on… AC and DC voltage up, dash AC blowing ice cubes….. Roger pilot…. kick the tires and light the fires we’re outbound!
Yeah, it’s getting a little corny but it really is a high pleasure to me to do this one run with every motorhome I build…. the first time out…. what fun!
You new owners pay attention one day you too could have this happen!!
So picking up Janie the only RV park in Central Florida less than a tankful away was Tropical Palms so we were forced to take in the Saturday night car show too! Hey, a really nice park on a really nice night in a really nice GMC. Consider the possibilities! I was thinking of putting it in their show but I’m too selfish of the time I have with Fandango…. so Bill will get the pleasure of the first car show…. OK, so with all that out of the way………
The less than 30 mile drive was like driving a rocket! Man the coach drives nice hey and stops nice too! Stock brakes but has the quad bag rear suspension. Everything else bone stock and I had a great trip! That’s ther way it needs to be… if you want to do something more from there fine…. but really if the coach is right, the quad bag does it all….. I did experience vapor lock but the aux. electric fuel pump cleared it up. It’s been in the 80’s around here! ]
Enough with the suspense… hey, had to get it in there somewhere… here is a photo walk around set up at the park:
Yes Bill, I put a bumper sticker on the back window… it comes off… the dash in full daylight, drapws closed, seats swiveled watching the Last Waltz on the DVD
and the rest of the coach well…..
Back lighting here is red but it can be any color
The night was great, the car show too … check out this cool food truck and the next morning stowed away and hit the road …. just one more pic
A small breakfast place in downtown Kissimmee I parallel parked on the road!
Heading home one more photo op near the shop
Now that’s what I’m talkin bout….. it’s a long way from here to there was nice before but now……. well……
Fandango is among us
OK, enough for today.. we have so much going on… tomorrow I’ll show you more…. thanks for dropping by… being a part of Bill’s Fandango reveal and now it’s work that final punch list. See ya tomorrow….
