Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

Parts. <<<<<< Sorry, we are no longer in the parts sales business

As of 2022, we have closed our brick and mortar business.

One thing the GMC motorhome and Transmodes are blessed with are availability of parts.  In that there were thousands of Olds Toronados and Cady Eldos produced not to mention almost 13,000 GMC’s gives us many drive cores and parts still being produced by many of the main parts manufacturers.  Unlike other low production RV’s, this is an important factor in deciding on which RV to work with.

I break parts into 3 basic categories and also 3 subcategories in each, let me explain:

1.  Parts still available from your local parts house.  Because there is still call for many of the disposable as well as other critical parts for the GMC.  As I explained before, the coach shares many parts right off the GM shelf on other vehicles.  Things like spark plugs and ignition parts, some bearings and seals though we recommend specific branded bearings.  Some brake and suspension parts.  Unfortunately because of the dwindling sales numbers even though they may still be in their catalog, it may be difficult to find them.  Parts houses carry things by “turn” or how many would they think they can sell.  So ask yourself, just howe many front wheel bearings do you think your local parts store has in stock anyway?  They may say they can get it but they want it prepaid and there will be waiting and paying for the shipping.  That’s when you call us.  Our parts distributors know we can sell these funky parts so they inventory them for us.  If they say they can’t get it…. that’s why we’re here.

2. Unavailable parts  These are things made of pure Unobtanium.. you know that metal….  In that our main business is restoration on this coach, we must have availability of those things that can’t be had.  I inventory this stuff for our use and if you want to do things the way we do I would be happy to help you with the part.  See, it’s not the availability of the part that’s difficult it’s what to do with the part when you get it!  This is all we do so buying a part from us you get us to back it up and help you install, adjust and maintain the piece.

3. New things  Hey, there has been improvement in technology, style (thank goodness double knit 3 piece leisure suits didn’t come back), design and our lifestyle since these coaches were new.  Remember Rowan & Martin’s Laughin was tops on TV and these coaches had the state of the art and style shag carpet and that 8 track tape deck just topped things off!  But “retro” is here and looks to be with us so we see our mission is to “restomod” the classic RV’s.  Have the iconic shape but with GPS, a flat screen and solid surface counters.  That’s our bag, we integrate the latest creature comforts into our restorations and again, if you want to do things the way we do, I would be happy to help you do what we do.

OK, so if you’re ready, below are the 3 categories, go take a look at some of the things we offer.  There is so much more than what you see here.  Call us with exactly what you need and we’ll direct you either through us or someone else where to get that part at the best price we know.  Gimme a call if you have any questions or would like to make a comment on this page.  We do not offer parts “on line”, we want to talk to each customer to be sure you know your options and help you make the right choice.  Talk to you then and thanks for your support….

Sorry but prices may change, the economy dictates that……..
