GMC Motorhome, window tinting on the fishbowl

Here’s a pic I promised to post on Facebook on a coach we did in the past that carried the paint scheme through the windows.

One great thing of a GMC Motorhome is the open windows… sitting in the passenger seat takes a little to get used to…. being on the outside edge of the road… up high with a panoramic glass around you…. we say good until the sun gets involved and you end up feeling like you’re in an incubator!  Man that glass area can cook ya!

One thing that really helps is rejecting the suns heat with window tint… especially the “high performance” or metalized films now available.  Without being dark, you can reflect off 80% of the heat coming in a window…. Don’t use “filter film” that uses the darkness of the tint to absorb the heat not letting it come in.  That process is only @ 40% effective plus filter films heat up the glass itself.  Now… you know better living through chemistry there is a NEW film type…. “Ceramic film”.  Hey, who knows how they get a ceramic pot clear… whatever the new big deal to reject heat is this stuff.   Last night we stayed late for the best tinter in this area to come over and do a little work for us.   2.14.17 morning 5.

Ceramic window tint film is very effective but it will interfere with cell reception, might want to take that into consideration.

Actually, the reason to use ceramic instead of metallized is to eliminate the interference with electronics, including cell phones. I just double-checked the Llumar website (the brand they use at The Co-op) to confirm.
