GMC Motorhome, Please put some form of fire suppression in your coach

I’m not meaning this mornings fodder to be a lecture but those of you on Facebook saw yet another classic GMC on fire.  Not smart enough to lift the pic from there but here’s a pic of one I do have Facebook 5 and another Burned-Wild-Blue-Yander

Heck, that was “Wild Blue Yonder”… I built that!  Don’t know what caused this one  burn at booth 1 but I’m sure the toll taker was impressed!  But see that’s my point… when something like this happens and one happened this week…. folks first ask “what caused it”.  Hey, great question but also if there was fire suppression it may have stopped it. ….. Did the coach have fire suppression is what I want to know.

We are a society of wanting to play the odds.  At5 Vegas you loose money, it real life you loose it!  The odds of something like this happening to you are in your favor  Facebook 4  But what if YOU were handed the short straw?  Someone chuckles and says “let it burn, I have insurance for that”….. brother I hope you get out of it!  Fire suppression may put out the fire but it’s really there to give you more time to get away.  If you ARE prepared enough it may protect that investment but not having a fire suppression system for your frig, generator and motor plus some hand held units to fight your way out with you are just out there on a thin limb!  People hate to hear doom, gloom and scare tactics and I hate to even suggest them…. I feel a reasonable person would see it’s merit and do something …. does not seem to be the case!

I found the glass ceiling in offering fire suppression that is not mandated when I bought the assets of the company BTW from big help from some enthusiastic GMC friends.  Shortly after though I was presented with the adage “you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make them drink”.  No matter what the stuff will do, a majority of the population will feel it does not pertain to them and spend money on more “useful” things.  Because of this Fire Fight Products will remain a small niche business because the customer base in general do not think they need the product……. just amazing to me but guess that’s why I’m not rich.

So don’t take away from this a tongue lashing, please just consider at least some sort of fire measures…. we have a $25 unit that will give you 12-15 seconds with of awesome foam suppression for 8-10 seconds.  That could be a life saving help!  Just anything other than I’ve got insurance…. it will never happen to me!

OK, that’s enough….. Fire Fight products were designed by a GMC owner originally for his GMC, the company grew from there.  Ralph passed away and I just could not offer these old machines without addressing fire.  Still Fire Fight Products is the only company targeting and tailoring fire products to the RV community.  95% of my business maybe more comes from non GMC motorhomes.  Those folks understand more but still sales are a drop in the bucket to how many coaches out there.

Fire damage 2

Hey, I broke the soap box so I’m off.  Today, I have a nagging brake issue in Bill’s coach…. has to be solved today.  A guy flew in yesterday to take a look at that Airstream Skydeck  SkyDeck 3  it’s ready to go.  The diesel is getting caret and it’s interior reinstalled and the beat IS going on.

Call if you have any questions, thanks for stopping by and I didn’t mean to preach there but please take the input seriously.  See ya tomorrow……
