Maybe the time of year, more late interest or whatever but here recently I’ve been involved in many purchase and sale transactions of GMC’s changing hands. I just feel it’s catching up…. so many are rediscovering what the GMC was originally designed for is still as valid today as it was then. Folks want to go places, carry more stuff and people that can fit in a Suburban, want to party with their friends, go to ball games, do things and have a place to call their very own wherever they go……. that’s what a GMC Motorhome can do and so much more.
Last week the “Green Machine” has a new owner Craig’s 28′ stretch has a new pilot
and what a nice machine with potential…. quad bag system with LTS Alcoas
Double extra length Zip Dees, fresh motor, nice paint and so much more for under $20,000! It will need new flooring, the purple upholstery needs to be updated, new tires and this GM floorplan twin bed will be on the road for under the magic $25,000 totally mechanically ready to hit the road in fact because of the condition this new owner will hit the level of a good looking exterior, a comfortable interior just the way they want it AND mechanically sound! It’s said if you have this level of coach and an investment under $50,000 you are doing really well. We will be at that level not spending much more than to get it mechanically sound! (the $25,000 level). Guys what I’m trying to say is don’t just look for a price……. the lowest cost one will AMWAYS cost you more in the end! It’s just true. Find a coach that has a good history, something that has been maintained and loved and just pick up being the coach steward. Remember you and I come and go in this world….. the motorhomes can stay. You need one that has possibilitles and you need to be prepared to recognize that.
If you are reading this and have found your dream machine please give me an Ah Men post on this page. The wannabees need to know how to find one and be happy with it. I tell ya, the new owner of this stretch has a super deal, you guys that looked at it and turned it down I hope you have found one that fit you because this one is gone! Color this Explorer II sporting a Hum V turbo-diesel gone too!
And for those that turned it down because the motor was too loud….. we have successfully quietened the Hum V diesel to a talking volume…. Zip Dee, Alcoas, 2 cyl. Lubota marine diesel generator, new 3 way Norcold, a total frame off restoration in 1997 by Explorer Vans……. it’s sold too!
We have a contract on “Mr. Clean” A 3 year old full restoration by me! Honda, American Eagles, frameless windows, quad bag of course. Bad ass interior
that turns into a huge bed up front among other neat interior features all only 3 years old
offered at a price I could not reproduce for 3 times the asking price! I’m serious guys, you wannabees are standing there letting the good ones get caught. You must look at the potential and stop looking for that “perfect” one…. Make one “perfect”, you can do it…. but it costs money to have quality…. it will NOT be the cheapest one you see! Please remember this…… I’m really happy I was able to help these folks find their dream machine. There are some other really good buys here. You must remember these few truths:
If you spend less than $10,000 it will probably be the smaller check to get the coach reliable and on the road. If it looks too good on paper it’s probably not in person. When you have a coach mechanically sound with the purchase of the coach if you have invested less than $25,000 in the rig you are doing well and if you are a little over that’s fine too because you do have something you can use. When the coach is “finished”…. BTW, they never are but if it looks nice, if it’s comfortable to you AND is mechanically sound….. if you have less than or near $50,000 invest seriously…. you are doing really well! Go to an RV dealer…. $100K doesn’t buy much. A renovated GMC is “the cheapest toy in the box”. If you have a nice one investing under $50,000, you have your dream machine for 1/2 price!
This can be for you too if you know what to look for. Go to our Patreon.com page “Motorhome Rehab Ranch”. Look, it’s free…. costs nothing so if it’s not clear when you go there keep looking…… Just go to the site… you don’t even have to register… just search the site for “Motorhome Rehab Ranch”. There are videos there to help you understand how to buy one of these. You are NOT looking at a 2010 Toyota…. don’t use that criteria, it won’t work. Do homework, understand the coach, look in the right places and use your imagination………. every GMC out there for sale is not a slug and you can spend some money and get a super money’s worth deal if you let folks help you. We have coaches here for sale, fly in…. learn more about the GMC… spend a day, look at what can be done. It seems this has helped many… could help you too. Coaches here are on consignment… we do not charge commissions so please take off your boxing gloves when we meet…. I’m not involved. Wanna see several coaches at 1 place, talk about them all…. that’s what we do here……
OK, so this morning was an announcement for you wannabbes out there, you other guys and owners…… help folks when they ask questions… no dumb questions, even the one about how to tuck in the sheets in the back! We want you to make a good decision and help you get your own dream machine…. let us know if we can help and we’ll see you all tomorrow…… Oh yeah, and THIS coach sold last week too! I tell ya there has to be something in the water! gonna get it back on the road too! See ya later….
PS: I was reading back todays post… how bout that… looking for spelling….. anyway, it occurred to me how to say all of that in one sentence……. Don’t buy junk…. buying cheap costs money! see ya later….
