GMC Motorhome, Cal’s first bath and more…

WOW.. already 294 of you out there at 6am….. there are more early risers out there like me than I figured!  Rock on there early force….

Everyone has to have their first bath and the first washdown on a new paint job gives a first look at the finished product.  Still waiting for the roof pod install Cal finals 21, his new tires got trued and balanced Friday

Cal finals 20  Cal finals 19 before install and we still have the bumpers to finish up but hey…. that didn’t stop pulling the coach into the daylight to take the brush to it.  What an honor….  And here are a few pics of that event:Cal finals 2jpg

Cal finals 3  Cal finals 1

Cal finals 4  Boy that “raccoon” blackout window treatment sure pops!  His new LED tail light kit and the 3 only top clearance lights have the look Cal finals 11  Today, DOT says you don’t even need to put in top clearance lights so 3 small superbrights give it that unique look.  The gator hide trim on his entry door is done Cal finals 15  The body side molding will change the look again after we do a little wet sand and buff out work…    that comes soon but as you can see…… we’re pretty close.    Stay tuned.  Back inside… what a looker… clean and smooth Cal finals 17

On another front, Bob G. is getting a new fuel delivery system  Gorman work 1The sun was low but you can see how badly crushed his rotted fuel hoses were Gorman work 2 hey and what the heck is that on the pipe going into the rear tank?  Gorman work 8  Looks like the filler elbow really fell apart Gorman work 7  Yep, ethanol fuel did that.. and the rest of the rubber under there wasn’t much better Gorman work 6  The tanks will be sent out for cleaning and pressure testing but soon Bob’s coach WILL actually run of the fuel system… it runs right now pretty well off a boat tank.  Check out the scuffing the fuel lines were putting on the aluminum underside of the floor Gorman work 3  Why you ask… because the body pads are crushed and falling out Gorman work 4   nice clean straight frame rails though….. “good bones” Gorman work 5Gorman work 10  Taking Bob’s place over to the right in the last pic is a new project on an under 50K miles 23′ Birchaven Morin work 1  Watch this unique project as it rolls out.  Not gonna tell ya what will make these mechanicals unique… you’ll just havta watch…. lemme say it’s something that’s never been done….

And in the middle off all this I still had time for a Sunday morning motorbike ride….. it’s hot right now here in Florida but hey, put the wind in your face and it’s all good! Amish-GL1000 It’s going to be another hot, awesome week here in Florida…. stay tuned hey and drop by if you’re in the area…. first nights free and where can you stay in Orlando for $10 a night AND see and have all of this fun?  See ya tomorrow…..

    Jim,
My 76 Eleganza is SLOWLY coming along. getting ready to do the rear brakes (got all the parts from the Coop). Finishing up the interior now. But I need a tube of the Bond-n-Seal you rave about. Is it possible to source that locally or is it too hard to get? What is the Mfg. name? Why don’t you like the 3M 5200? Anyway I can order it from you guys.
Love the morning blogs, wish you weren’t 1500 miles away, I do have some things I’ll have to have done when I do get down there some day!
    Thanks, Bob DeRose

    Hey Jim,

Great pics! Looks like you’ve got the new photo processing system well in hand.

I just bought a set of the new style passenger and driver sides windows for Jim K. The instruction that I got the pictures were really shitty. Do you have those pictures or the blog where I can down load them direct? If I can print the blog with the pictures myself they might be much clearer or do you have additional pictures that you can send to me.
