GMC Motorhome, Bill’s interior is coming together

It’s almost not fair having to set the title of the next post here to only 1 project.  heck, I’ve got a pile of folks hoping to get a glimpse of their baby in here…. like Cedric shriekscedric-repair-7 with joy when I post something on Ruby.. like hey, we’ve got the door back in one piece, sanded, etched, primed with a guide coat on it for block sanding…….

Or JD might take an extra coffee break to see his coach without it’s sideswipe and ready to go on with it’s exterior  jb-body-repair-5

It would take all day to catch everyone up but one has to be picked so the rest of you guys enjoy the progress we’re having on Bill’s 23′ rear bath “Showcoach”.  Another reason I’m posting this is actually why this page is here.  Its very impotant now that the coaches we’re working on stay current on everything.  Our process dictates now we must focus on fewer project to get more accomplished.  That means fewer projects being pushed to pay the bills.  We need to keep up on all fronts… Bill’s coach is coming to it’s delivery so progress must be paid out.  You guys are seeing that progress while looking in on me talking to Bill so enjoy ….. we COULD be working on yours next!

We got in the open wheel flare kit fresh from Frank Jenkin’s barn. bill-finals-12

Out of stock, Frank made these just for you Bill.  His fiberglass parts are the best…. thanks Frank.  There you also see his prepped bumpers along with some other exterior parts …. furnace vent…. getting ready to get painted  bill-finals-13

We’re color keying the original steel bumpers to the gold lower paint.  bill-finals-14

The excitement is starting to shine through.  Even with the tires now trued we can’t put it on the ground yet… the flares are a &^$#@$%^&*( to line up.. impossible with the wheels on and lining up the freshly painted bumpers and all that… she’s gotta stay in the air for a while longer……

That makes an extra step for the guys trimming out the interior.  First, let me give Bill a look fore and aft and then we’ll talk:

bill-front-1  bill-back-1  As you can see, the original Birchaven overhead cabinets have been refinished, the original wood.  This is a totally different finishing process than what we’re doing over with Willie & Nancy’s “Savoy Brown”  white-overhead-20  Hey, we’re not just a 1 trick pony!

Have breakfast to eat… will be back.. go take a shower and have breakfast yourself…..

OK, I’m back and those scrambled eggs did the trick..

So back to the progress on Bill’s coach……  so the walls, headliner and bulkheads are getting their final trim  bill-tv-wall-2  I’ve got 4 guys bumping into eachother getting all the final trim and finish done.  All lights are LED touchpad.  Speakers are in for the new motorized 7″ LCD screen on the new dash radio  bill-dash-2  Danavan has his cell phone “blue tooth” linked to the system for checkout.  The new flat screen TV on it’s articulated arm will be system connected  bill-tv-wall-1  His new wood trimmed countertops are done but until we have all the infrastructure, drawers and all that done they will be waiting their turn for installation

bill-countertops-1  bill-countertops-7  The coach still looks less than where it is but as you see, everything is done in order and when the time is right… there’s no rushing this… especially in that this coach will be going to high profile car shows.  As far as I can take a Non full restoration we’ll be doing Bill’s coach up with… stay tuned…..

See, now that wasn’t so bad… enjoying the progress and watching how Bill’s coach is coming.  And if you were thinking about something like this know Bill’s project started with cleaning up a nice survivor coach for reliable use on the road.  See what happens?  You get into one of these and hey why not….. this is your grand journey in something you never thougt you would have.  How does that beer commercial go with the most interesting man in the world…. here is the back wall of my office… in it’s messy glory   office-back-wall-2 and closer  office-back-wall-1 Thanks for dropping by and your support…..

I’ll see ya tomorrow.
