GMC Motorhome, Bill is in clear

Morning, for those of you coming here every day we’ve all been painfully following the paint work being performed om Bill’s 23′ rear bath.  In Gatlinburg recently, ran into Bill… whda figured … and the main point talking about his paint work which of course is taking more time that we like still, knowing what Bill wants, knowing Bill not only recognizes quality paint work actually owning a top rated restomod and building another one right now… we have a pretty critical eye attached to the owner of this coach.  Hey, it’s all good… heck, before I went nuts over the GMC, I was into Fat Fender Mopar…. think I’m used to not having any reproduction parts!!!!

Anyway, I understand what his eye has been trained to see…. and I too like that stuff so yep… I can do that, these next pics are specifically for Bill and his buddies who are all asking Bill why is it taking so long on his paint.  Hey guys… you think I could pass off a “cave-n-pave” paint finish on Bill???  OK then,

So Bill, you were asking how we would address the black pinstripe….

bill-clear-7  These pics are after “base color picking” .  Ray will look at every paint line, dusting in with a fine “jam gun” making sure the lines are clear  bill-clear-10

bill-clear-4  bill-clear-7 bill-clear-6  It’s critical to fix any “foopas” before the clear is added.  Ray takes this step very personal and I can appreciate that Ray cutting his teeth painting black, highly detailed limousines..  co-op-limo-buff-1  So now that he thinks he’s done, Gramps… our Cuban born upholstery guy…. has to give his 2 cents  bill-clear-9  Yeah, and there’s our paint intern, Junior he too has some comments… I don’t know how Ray takes it!

So all that base detail work is done in the well lit big building with the 3 oz. jam gun,  now over to the booth, a tac down … the booth is too tight to get pics…. 3 hour tac up time on the 3 coats of clear…. putting down the door yesterday evening…. and we’re in clear boys, yeehaa    bill-clear-2  bill-clear-3  That’s what I’m talkn bout… still very soft and way before wet sand and buff…. check out that flat surface……

Bill, I’m sorry that I’m doing this right…. it’s taking the time but dude, aren’t you going to show this thing?  Well, alright then.  Bill and I have a target date that I’m sitting down with my guys to talk and see if we can make it.  Going for it is I’ve got the hands, talent, specific expertice, a quality finish to work with, the tools and the shop…. the drawbacks.. well one trumps them all… Bill’s eyeball!  After our prayer meeting I’ll let you know what we can do.  Hey, Bill is interest even with the rest of you going…. showoff!

Look, there are many level of refinement and finish… you need to know where they all are to do the best in any.  Takes a good understanding to be able to do them all.  Bill’s finish is up there with RC’s,  rc-glamour-5  or “Sport Billy”  kent-finals-21.  or “Blueocity”  jerry-family-2.  I mean this IS what you’re looking for … right Bill?  Here’s another 23′ coach we did too way back  outside-side  Hey and Bill, there are the wheel flares we’re doing for you.  You are gonna love your coach when it’s done…… What can I say?

I have a big expose planned tomorrow for the 12 passenger upper NY wine tour bus  ben-finished-2  ben-finished-1

Yeah, we’re struggling on the floor treatment….. we’ll see ya tomorrow for that.

Thanks for coming by, we’ll see ya tomorrow…  alignment-party-2.
