GMC Motorhome, a new 455 roller motor lives

Get some more coffee, I need to process a few pics…. be right back…

OK.. and without further bla..bla..bla, yesterday Ron’s motor popped of Ron-run-in-27 so another industrial grey, “Kryptonite” roller cam 455 motor exists   The new and improved run in stand works great, even the wired alternator is putting current into the jump battery…..  this has to be the heaviest duty battery charger out there! (The  14.3 volt read at the top means the alternator is charging) Ron-run-in-25  Scoping in on the gauges says at idle (950 rpm), we have 18″ of vacuum, over 50 lb. oil pressure at 190 degrees water temp (has 180 degree thermostat)…. to me that’s perfect..  Ron-run-in-26  The flex fan shows the motor is turning Ron-run-in-28  We ran it 3 times at 30-45 minutes each.  It’s almost sad but today I’ll be disconnecting the motor and building the crate for shipping this fresh motor to my long time friend Ron S.

We’re dropping the fluids, shipping the motor complete with the new dist. set, carb. mounted.  There is no question that if all good things are done on the install this will power a GMC with gusto.  Stay tuned for the breakdown and crating…

A little about things I ran into this morning opening up….. Yep, it’s another coach in the priming stage of it’s exterior refinish 5.18.16-walk-2Still unable to get into our paint bays, we have rain today so the coach is hunkering down in the main building 5.18.16-walk-1  The guys will keep going to sanding inside on that project….

Heading out back I see the rain brought us a new challenge.  Here is a 5 pic panorama of our rear area:

5.18.16-pana-5 5.18.16-pana-4 5.18.16-pana-3 5.18.16-pana-2 5.18.16-pana-1  The sump pump died causing our lake to appear 5.18.16-walk-3  and the dip in front of the lift is keeping us off it for now.  Manny will be here today so we need to get on the lift… stay tuned for that…

Thanks for coming by, see ya tomorrow….
