GMC Getting ready for Dothan

To explain to you how crazy things have been leading up to attending the GMCMI convention in Dothan Alabama, you have to understand that business always hinges on “the first of the month”.  I moving into our new digs starting leases, ending power deposits, getting in and productive all came together April 1.

Hey, BTW … someone asked me if I had sold the Co-op and was leaving.  Where did THAT come from and who would even think that?  Lemme set the record straight if for only you guys…… YOU COULD NOT FORCE ME TO LEAVE THE CO-OP!  Sorry for shouting there but this business represents much more than an exit strategy.  My banker told me I had already missed my profitable selling window for the company… I said I’m not done yet!  Yes, someone has stepped forward to help in this journey.  Jay is as committed to having fun and doing something important… no, he’s not a GMC owner but someone who sees this market and understand the opportunities.  I am here, will here and you can’t get rid of me THAT easy!  We have something special coming together here and it takes more than just me to push this rock.  I’m honored and excited our Co-op team is coming together with the excitement part being the future.  So, squelch that rumor if you hear it and let those folks know to sit back, hold my beer and whatchchis!!!

OK back to the fun, this space has not looked like this for 19 years old-shop-closing-10  If you Google CLASCO Manufacturing you will see a brochure from 1991 with these paint samples on the wall, I’ve had them all this time.  old-shop-closing-9… and yes, I’m keeping them!  This was the first bay I rented back in 1997 when the Co-op started.  I took over this bay 4 years later old-shop-closing-8  And how bout this…. limousines being pulled in my bays now.  We’ve kept the old shop too lending bays to our customers for storageMove-in-wave-2-6  Hey, it’s come full circle…. the shop is now storage and now the new shop is full old-shop-closing-1  Good thing April 1 also gave us access to our back buildings

Stand by while I process some new pics>>>>>>>

first the mechanical shop needed a serious delousing before moving in our next diesel project New-mechanics-shop-5  The Explorer II GMC on the left will be getting the Manny GM 6.5 Turbo Diesel motor.  With the concrete and building clean, we also moved over one of our paint projects New-mechanics-shop-4  Where the final sanding will be done before the paint goes on.  Fits like a glove outside where the sanding  won’t get all over everything New-mechanics-shop-2  And the beat goes on… over our front fence you can see the bone yard    Move-in-wave-2-2Wow, things are really coming together.

Last but certainly not least, we installed yesterday a driver side slider in JayGee front-slider-JayGee-2 going to the Dothan rally I wanted to have a window in to show front-slider-JayGee-1 plus I wanted to experience first hand how it is.  The ride home last night was awesome … a terrible pic but hey, I can stick even my fat head out of it front-slider-JayGee-3

Not saying this cause we have them but man, that was a nice ride home and even this morning being chilly, I had the window open and the cold air didn’t blow in!  The latch is a little hard to lock but hey, the opening is nice.  Come take a look at it in Dothan.   We’ll have some there for sale… $450 each or $850 for both driver and passenger sides.

OK, the day is on, I need to get in it so we’ll see ya tomorrow….. then come to Dothan and we’ll have big fun!.
