GMC Exterior DA & body repair

James… never mind, karma exists

So Cal’s coach is a day closer to it’s new colors.  We’re discussing his paint scheme while finishing up the prep work.  We’re in the DA (dual action sanding) stage of the exterior refinish.  This is when it looks worse to look better Cal-DA-work-4  All of those spots are high spots the 6″ sanding disc found.  We’re at 330 grit now after the first 80 grit grinding.  There was some loose paint that had to come off completely there on the front hood that went right down to primer  Cal-DA-work-2  The spare tire while taken off left us a present…. loose paint  Moving-in-3.26.16-17  The rails are off and cleaned up, the body under the rails are clean and ready for the etching primer .  We’ve got Cal’s coach “plugging the door” pulling it out to do the sanding then pulling it in to dodge raindrops…. hey, we ARE in Florida!Cal-dodging-rain

Still moving over to the new facility, Bill B. poor vandalized coach has it’s turn with Capt. Hook, feel sorry for the critter but it is yielding important parts so he’s a welcome donor for the shop Moving-in-3.26.16-15  Moving-in-3.26.16-134  and for those pieces/parts there is simply no room for… it’s off to Stovocor and a warriors funeral … don’t look, just say NO and let it go!to-the-dump-1  Wait… that’s a Leece-Nevelle 160 ampl alternator using a snow mobile cog belt!  And wait, I see a 3.55 diff…. get that…… Wait guys, why are you escorting e back in…. this is good stuff!!!!  15 cracked exhaust manifolds, 22 worn out diffs, pulleys, flywheels, brake plates, 2 403 blocks!!!! Hey Miguel, I couldn’t stop them….  I SWEAR IT’S NOT MY FAULT…. oh babies, I’m sorry but you gotta go…

How bout a new vinyl top on a white limo…. not that many white ones out there Co-op-limo-2  Hey and our beloved GMC is not the only vehicle that has water leaks, the guys are getting nose bleed up there digging out old sealant on this monster Co-op-limo-3  That’s my custom Oldsmoblie bell housing used to lace up our motors on the dyno there in the wheel barrel.  I’m telling you guys, things are really coming together.

The funny thing about all of this is I used to spend an unusual amount of time worrying about the small things…. I now find those are small and sweating those things messes up the time you need to spend on the big picture.  Thanks to you guys helping me see this.  All of the petty bickering, who did this to me and why… that’s all small stuff not worth messing with…. we have made the corner and now it’s “to infinity and beyond”

Thanks for dropping by today, it’s been fun.  Hope your day gets going well, it’s on here now… I hear the DA going, the compressor feeding it, rain is coming at 3pm so for now it’s work time… See ya tomorrow….
