Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

You are here: Home / The Daily Pose / Yep….. I missed yesterday…oops……

Yep….. I missed yesterday…oops……

……… We’ve been working a delivery for Lynn S.  A w GMC owner, after addressing the issues that showed up on his mechanical evaluation, Lynn drive in with a rental to hang out to learn about his coach.  And as usual he saw other things he wanted us to do “while it’s here”.   See, this is how a delivery should go…..a new owner cones in expecting to learn about his new investment.  He found his coach had a defined cruise control….we installed a Rostra.  While his dash AC accepted Freon , seeing the new idea of using a rotary compressor….we put one in.  Testing the water system was a success, the fresh water city inlet check valve cracked….we replaced that……and a few more tweaks and Lynn should be heading out today.

I said this is how a delivery goea….that is a good one.  A new customer knows little about their new roy, it’s a mistake I will no longer allow to happen…….you MUST come down here and learn about your coach BEFORE taking it home………no exceptions.  Deliveries that don’t go well is usually because the operator doesn’t know what to?expect!  From now on,  THIS will be the only way you can pick up your coach…..no shipping coaches home….except for overseas of course.

This coach made it to the lift for its love sessionand here are its original fuel tanks extractedone wasn’t doing too bad but this one was a smelly leakerthe sender had failed so everything this tank got fuel it leaked down both sides and the middle.  The vent hoses were badly bent and crushed probably making adding fuel a slow proposition and leaking fuel the entire time.  A new aluminum fuel tank will fix all that mess.
I’m not sure Robert, that’s not a skateboard!  If you can’t enjoy yourself while you work……..find a new job!  BTW, that’s Lynn and his coach getting all of its new toys…….Someone asked how the new GMC body tool room was coming along…..daytime lighting and a fan make it a nice place…..thanks guys for putting this together……..Looks like we have more “live edge” countertops coming up.  We’ve found a small sawmill down in Kississimmi that blanks out exotic woods…..man, freshly cut cedar has such a good smell!

So as you can see the beat goes on here….wether I post of not the team we now have rocks on.

Thanks for this visit, sorry I let you down yesterday but it wasn’t for not having anything to say…..   See ya tomorrow……..
