……….. Along with other observations, our video sessions come from questions thrown at us on Emails. Some are pretty colorful and gives us a view at what we can do to enhance your GMC experience.
Yeah. . sounds pretty ethwrical but we are in a time in this community that many things have, are and will continue to evolve. No need for me to hurry things, it will all be clear soon. We are trying to change with the times NOT closing the doors to leave the future speculative.
I’ve told Jason and the core twam he has assembled that I’m jealous…..Yes, if someone would have afforded me the opportunity they have have 25 years of expertise and experience….you might scoff at me saying this but with the right direction this place is doing great things…..
Like videos…… If you haven’t been there recently dude you’re missing it….and it’s all free! Now I had a flash of that Joe Namath Medicare commercial!
The videos…….oh yeahso one of last week’s videos was on the external transmission governor. This was the set for it out in the shop….. It was suggested by one of you… Wondering how “Mutcedes” our motor stand was doing
The Olds powered, rear engine, 76 Mercedes 450SL convertible test and tune stand is in its normal state….apart!it’s only operational to run a motor/transmission combination before there’s spend dozens of hours installing it all. We need to know it works BEFORE Ricky goes to put it in
Speaking of which, Ricky knows I like stuff made with old, broken parts…he made me a slick new keyringit’s a rear wheel bearing race he found when replacing all the rear wheel bearings, seals and races……you ALWAYS replace them all but this seal?failed while the bearing had not yet destroyed itself
……You can see that before the breakdown of the metallurgy that a the bottom of the race the protruding lip shows you how much of the race had worn down before failure began. This sucker had been left in wayyyyy too long! A great thing to make a point, thanks Ricky.
But moving back to videos,I’ve noticed the continued pickup of calls from young folks saying they found one of these things back behind somewhere and they wanted to know what to look at first and even should they even get involved!I mean it may not be an aluminum Yukon radiator or a complete new fiberglass dash…..but maybe yes!
No, it’s gonna be more basics like do all?6 wheels tirn and are there parts missing from the motor is more like i think would helpful
Another full mechanical upfit getting ready to hit the runway home
BTW: I think a way for us to benefit from getting together like this from time to time might be to stop and resume a blurting such as this. So go do the rest of your life when your eyes get tired and come back later….leys see how it works, this way I can “just keep going”!
So, also… Folks always go look up under the hood of Mucedes and ask for an explanation..I explain it’s battery powered but then they ask what the Ford F-150 radiator was for? Yeah, what a great thing to do with a rusty, broken old classic car!
that was not worth doing anything else to and you can get the “Cannonball run” feeling too..
……… And so it’s life as a motor check out stand continues
…..
So with all that said, one video next week will be how to wake up one of these things…..and if you should! Give me some ideas on something you want to see……inquiring minds and all that……
See ya later and thanks for the support …….…….Ralph
