…….so what IS one of these things worth right now? It’s a constant stream of folks discovering and are interested for the first time looking at what an old GMC can offer……..
How do these folks get to a point to consider one of these?
If someone is smart and doesn’t get drunk on the new motorhome punch…….many ideas come up. Especially when seriously ENTRY level on a new motorhome is over $100,000 for something that’s of any real quality. I mean I’m not an “entry level” kinda guy! And I’m SURE not interested in Loosing that much money that fast and to have a baby with huge diapers! Talk to anyone attempting to keep up with maintenance and warranty on a monster…..they will tell you they have more seat time taking the coach in for warranty and repairs more than using it! If you’re new to the motorhome world and you’re looking around……its an expensive, scary investment on a chance to have a little fun.
It would depress me to not have the option of the “cheapest toy in the box”!
Ruby there is one of the nicest coaches I’ve had the privilege to work with. It is appointed nicer than any new motorhome today. It’s mechanical condition is as new as everything can be……..the total investment in putting this beauty together to 4 and 1/2 years of professional love and cost is what a new quality motorhome would cost……….. What is it worth to have a one of a kind quality awesome vintage motorhome in an ocean of big boxes?
So “Waz it Worth” right now? Again, it’s the cheapest way to have not an entry level toaster box but a balls to the wall, badass, one of a kind, eyeball magnet…..that you can sleep in!
Hey but what’s one “worth” in a little less condition?………. Here is a “core”. This is what more and more cores need to come proudly back to the road. This coach could have invested a similar amount that Ruby enjoyed and it will rival anything new. But the investment will need to be madeeverything that was built into this coach by the UAW will go out the opening in the back with the hatch off the same way it all went inwell some is also spilling out the entry door but it all needs to come out. It’s all 45 years old, worn out and mauve is just no longer IN..
Sorry for the time away….one more cut on a tile and our kitchen floor will be ready for grouting……..just like the motorhome, closing in on 100 years old……. The house is beginning to need more and more!
Anyway, the foam in those mauve dinette seats are dead so only the frames will be reused. See that’s a core……yes, there IS a bunk…….framesee what’s this worn old GMC worth? It’s worth putting money into it to come up with an awesome least expensive way to get out safe and comfortable on the road…… There it is, even a core can have value if you put money into one you will certainly get it out……….and because of labor being the money sucking pig of the world it will cost more if you wait!
This is what it’s like here with 32 projects in house and on going……. Something only has value if someone wants it……brother, folks want a nice GMCViva La GMC………. The Dreams Alive
