The weekend Co-op: (UPDATED) Who says this cant be done……….

………  There’s been this thing about carbs…….you hard to check your numbers to see if it would match your motor.

That was true coming out of Rochester…….on the assembly line, each carb was set up on linkage and internally by way of jets to allow it to flow properly for whatever motor.  Also, Olds carbs have a “ported output” feature that other carbs may not have to properly plumb the backwards turning distributer.

BUT, if you know the motor a carb Wil be used on and you have steely eyed carb builders, with a flow bench and 3 gas tester, a carb can be put together foe most any application.

I loves Q-jet carbs, it broke my heart when I understood why active fuel injection is so much better using today’s fuels……still I love my Quadrasnot carbs.

Here is a fresh remanufactured carb originally manufactured for a 403 Olds motoe, it’s now set up for a 455 motorsealed in a plastic bag, set up with an electric choke so the intake manifolds can be blocked off this carb will soon be feeding a fresh 455 motor.

These guys really protect this beauty in their boxfor supporting our efforts I slipped in one of our “The Dreams Alive” licence plate surrounds…..thanks for your business and for understanding this is not a big deal.  If the linkage does not extend below the carb (because of our concave intake manifold profile) and a carb is fitted with a ported output connection this 402 carb can be made to properly feed a 455….no problemand if this can be done think the job that can be done on your correct numbered carb!  This reman project is $295 using your carb. and comes with the proper insulator base plate gasket

So yeah, producing custom parts to work through the extreme heat cycles our drive trains are exposed too…….heck this is so much more than a simple parts source…….see if one of big boys can do what we have done here, these are the unique things our Motorhomes need and what we do.

Taking Eleganza for her Sunday morning?ride…… ..have a great Sunday and please stay healthy………

Update:

And you don’t need to take my word for this Jerry Work did a very detailed “white paper” on this many years ago.  So let’s just this myth for good…….

Man I want that done to my carb. I’m so installing the block off plates now and need my carb redone with an electric chock.
