I can tell I’m feeling better when I get in a little early to the shop again. It’s turning dawn as I make it over to Kevin’s Cocoon for a looksee what he’s doing…. I know there’s peace in my Unvierse when Kevin is at work This morning he’s playing with squares
Well, to be honest these are some custom fuel doors Chuck made for his coach
Chuck is a really good fabricator who was unhappy with the doors available and fabricated his own fuel doors out of a stop sign. Not gonna rust and with the right equipement and brains anything is possible. His coach is an original GM floorplan 78 coach that 3 doors were used. Stay tuned, maybe Kevin will mount them today…
So yeah, I’m feeling like Mr. Summer Cold is loosing it’s grip on me and lemme tell you that’s great! I have 2 speeds… 110% or 0 and with low energy the knob doesn;t know what to point to. Going to try the 110 setting at least for a while today, wish me luck.
OK and now for the reason for the topic of today’s sermon —- it fits Cedric, we fitted this protottype driver slider frame to your coach. The part Kevin was concerned most about was the mating to the windshield which you can see here fitted like a glove
The front glass will slide back giving the driver unobstructed access to adjust the mirror without working your arm like a robotic claw. I pulled the trigger on the custom glass which will be manufactures with a 50% “solar guard” reflective heat barrier (yes, legal in California) but will block some 80% of the heat… oh happy day!.
Pricing, the glass manufacture will be the key so stay tuned… but you know to me, I have always wanted something like this, I assure you we will price the window as low as we can but man, what a feature. These windows will be available primarilly through Applied GMC which is our communities most committed parts supplier. I support him and his efforts so they will carry this part for us. Look, we all need to work together in such a niche industry. We may sell some but if this is something you are interested in Jim K. will be getting a larger share of the inventory so give him a call if you’re interested.
An awesome day here in Florida, 65 degrees coming in with a high in the low 80’s. Ejoy your leaves changing and all that… know we’re here warming up the steel drums…
Gotta go, we have a month old owner come in last night… we’re getting him fixed up, Jay M. is coming in by train tomorrow to pick his baby up, with the exterior getting it’s finals, Chuck C. shoulbe in open water soon so we’re movin. Have a great day, call if I can help….
