………. Installing a new aluminum fuel tank and new holding tank, with all of that out of the way, we need to help the frame.
After decades of living close to the road under the coach rust has started bending down the main rails.as you can see, rust has pushed down the lower part of the rail. It’s unfortunate be we see much of this.
How to fix this? If you have rust thru sorry but you may need new rails, many coaches though haven’t deteriorated to that point, we chisel out the rust, push the bent rail back up into place then weld it back together leaving open areas to shoot POR-15 rust treatment inside the fix to kill the rustNext the POR-15 will be sprayed inside and outside the repair with the entire rail get covered.
Curing overnight, today it’s time to install the tanks, stay tuned I’ll show you the finals of this project.
Take a look at this recent purchase in with us for a mechanical reviewA CLEAN looking restoration, I’ve always liked the baby moon look……has a set of those cool windows we used to have, ZipDee awning, single color white has a good look too. I like the black aftermarket ladder and rail.
the interior dash area is pretty normal
but they went their own way in the back and it sure feels open
One of the great things restoring a GMC, you CAN do most anything you want.
Ok, day 2 and were gearing up…..thanks for everyone’s support. Come back tomorrow and see more neat stuff……see ya then
