Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

You are here: Home / The Daily Pose / The heat has broken here in the south, and along with it I get to work in the dark and leave in the dark…..

November 16, 2020

The heat has broken here in the south, and along with it I get to work in the dark and leave in the dark…..

……..but still the mornings are minesitting out back watching the light come up, the sun is behind a thick bank of clouds, we were able to get the Dragon capsule aloft before the clouds rolled in……isnt it amazing how Space X has nailed landing expended rockets on the “Read the Instructions” platform out at sea……very cool.  Being a Florida native I’ve seen so many launches over the decades and today really, technology has outdone itself!

Turning my seat to stare at the big house, it also amazes me how far we have gone messing with these old machines….…….. This too is truly amazing to me.  Yes it’s been my life for probably too long but how do you stop something like this when you’ve taken it this far?  Simple, it’s become a movement that just won’t stop!

Through the years we have made the phases in a growing economy with a vehicle that by all rights should not still be around.  Why is it still here is why I’m still here……its such a special machine.  In the past, Motorhomes were not made like a GMC and even today, the manufacturing processes cannot put out a machine like the GMC………so I guess THATS why folks are still interested in them and I guess why The Co-op is still here.

In the upcoming months we are reforming the basis of the company in the future focusing only on the GMC Motorhome.  I had played with other vintage rv’s to include Airstream, Argosy, Revcon, FMC, Cortez and others mainly because the guys can do it and I didn’t think we wanted to specialize in such a niche market…..expand our customer base and all that.  Well…….as it has turned out there’s way more work to be done just with the GMC than I had an idea!

We’ll be finishing up the “SOB’s” not in taking anything other than the GMC.

For whatever reason, and whatever it is is throwing more folks our way interested in what we already know is our unique coach.

It’s all a good thing for all of us.  No more 454 Chevy motors crammed in a hole….no more coaches that are too heavy for our lift…….

We now are truly THE specialist for this coach.  Thank you all for your support in putting us where we are today.  It’s our customers and our dedication to them that has made the difference……thank you!

We expect more videps, forgot to do the one on straightening the entry door……thats next then we’ll put the rear suspension back on Bikers Dream…..stay tuned.

Ok, the day is on, thanks for coming by, we’ll have something for you tomorrow……see you then….
