What can I tell ya…I came in to put down a few thoughts and the internet gods said Nyiet! Don’t know what happened…..must be the Russians! Lemme try and put it down again…….
So yesterday was a pretty solumn day, we attended a funeral service for one of Janie’s best friends from before my time…… yes Cancer and in 10 days she was gone……. Just like the last thing my best friend from before Janie said to me passing at age 59…..DO IT NOW. This is going to happen to all of us…no one’s getting out of this place alive! But what to do with all this sorrow? Each time one of these things enters my life I take some time to try hard to remember all of the things that made up that person and what lessons I want to remember from them that can maybe grow in my life somehow. That was part of my day yesterday and today…thinking about what Melanie meant to me other the others who celebrated her life last night.
But while that’s bubbling around in my head, coming off of a huge high…… here is the Co-op’s first remount at the EMS vehicle show in the Daytona/Peabody show Among some pretty awesome Fire Fighting geer
I had eyes for only one….ours and we impressed our competition with our silly LED rocker guard flashing lights!
Can you believe it… with all that other stuff piled up on those million dollar rigs no one had ever taken a $30 string of RGB lights with a remote and rigged them up in an ambulance! WE WON….we had one more doodad than they did! Take THAT you big ole lumbering manufacturers…a couple of red neck hard workers trumped ya!
Well lets not get too cocky…… hey but we were there and we’ll be building others!
So yeah, coming off that to prepare for saying farewell to a dear friend sauses mixed feelings…….both need remembering.
So driving back from Daytona after smiling on my feet all day I was bushed but lit up walking in after the shop closed to find Phillip and this new UTI student/parts timers with us putting together the fresh 455 roller motor we .got delivered to us from Drew Koba last week Brilliant! That’s it, much more than just a gratuitous business…I’ve always maintained you have to want to do this work for more than the money because that’s just not here. You have to WANT to do this………. Just like the old days..nothing to do on a Friday nigh, turn up some country music and screw around putting a big block motor on an engine stand…a gas powered heater that makes the most beautiful “red neck lullabye” music! It just don’t get any better than that for a southern gentlemans eveings enjoyment!
And that non garage kept red Porsche means I think this new kid will work out just fine! So next week we’ll be firing this mother up
We’ll run it in on the stand with a carb but this puppy is getting the FiTech fuel injection treatment…stay tuned for this one……
Yesterday morning WAS satisfying, we have 2 50 amp openings even with the big Prevost..we actually have room for one more of those too! I hope you guys remember we have 50amp openings here in Orlando for $10 a night…call and make a reservation….we’re the newest Central Florida attraction with the lowest camping rates on the planet
! And after getting a good report from our first guest at the beach house in Ormond by the Sea, a 1 beer walk to the beach…US Post office…donut shop…pizza dive….bar…microbrewery….Publix….Bells Outlet…..did I say the beach too is $50 a night…. Janie is taking reservations. Google the address….42 Alamanda Ave. …….Ormond by the Sea Guys…it’s just too cold up there! Close your eyes and say it slowly……FLORIDA….!!!!!!!! This is the place that makes me happy…I think it will work on you too!
There it is again…………….FLORIDA…..Yeah baby See you guys tomorrow……… Oh and the beach comes with this vintage Schwinn “Hollywood” womens bike with another 2 wheeled wonder to come!!!! THIS is your transportation around here!
