The Co-op: Where did THAT week go!

Gotta tell ya so much happening…. Met with the Monacco club at Lazy Days yesterday, they also understand they want to protect not only the motorhome investment but like us THAT actual coach!  They aren’t making the ones that are more sought after…like Wanderlodge folks…. they love they older BSH bodies and the sheer massiveness and industrial look….sound familiar?  They love their machines like we do, they get it………………. It’s refreshing to see such motorhome blissful enthusiasm and fun……. like going to a GMCMI or WS rally for us.  The late Ralph kennerknect, the guy who designed the Fire Fight Products we make, told me shortly after he purchased his GMC after living on board a boat in Miami…”These GMC’s remind him of a “campfire looking for a match”.  The planes and ships he had designed fire suppression systems for through his career were not built to the standard he was used to.  He said, “you hace fire contained in a wooden box!”  And he’s right but don’t get me on that soap box…….no yesterday was awesome, with me away I think MORE got done …..

And the guys changed out this engine oil pan in 1 day  2.16.18 morning 13  Understand they had to drop the tranny, disconnect the motor and lift it up enough to remove this dented oil pan.  In 1 day!  NO….WE CANNOT do that every day but Jared and Phillip made that happen!!!!!  awesome  How did this happen?  This is a killer…….. the transmission went out….the tow company strapped it and damaged the holding tank……. supporting the motor by the oil pan……..WHAAAA>>>>> the jack slipped and well… broke it.  Believe this I drove it and there was no noise!  Descent oil pressure!   That hadta go !!!  And it did and the guys are all superstars!

On other news, JD brought his paint job…well the motorhome came with is for some new fuel injection.  .2.16.18 morning 2  If it looks familiar we did a paint design interpretation from this drawing JD color 18  Being a military helo mechanic trainer, JD is 5by5 on mechanical stuff and part of the reason he settled on this particular coach was that it had been fitted with the ultry hot and tasty Electromotive direct port, sequential, run it on youe lap top fuel injection system like this one I installed over 10 years ago  Top-view-not-running  Hey and cool it was…you could NEVER be bored driving!  Motor-&-lap-top  brother and talk about dashboard??????  Monitor-screen-closeYeah man, lets throttle-up!

Hey but times have changed, technology has to..and so did cost.  That Electromotice Tech IIr was just a little south of $6500!  Today, we’re installing this box of goodies in JD’s coach to replace that old system for @ $1300 and it’s a learning system!  2.16.18 morning 3 Installed there’s @ $2200 in the whole FiTech system…installed  FiTech 26and there’s more real time information and adjustments than that Electromotive ever thought about!  JayGee FiTech 18 this and 3 more screens of information….here’s 1 more JayGee FiTech 16 fuel flow rate and air temperature?  Where’s the TV lineup for tonight!…it’s simply amazing.  And most of these new…real time…self learning fuel injection systems will probably offere the same amazing reliability.  It’s not for the speed, horsepower or any of that silly stuff…..Our fuels today are formulated to be pressurized and mechanically atomized through an injector….yes, carbs were not made for our new fuel formulations……sucks but it’s the truth and it’s not just the Ethanol!  If you guys would like a discussion on this let me know.  The older “dumb” chipped or programmable FI systems simply cannot keep up with the new technology FI systems in cars today.  Why do we want that….because it REALLY works and adapts our red neck…fot tolerance…smelly…noisey….. big block dinosaur motors allowing them to live with this new Koolaide fuel we are forced to drink!!!!!!

My dear ole carbs are hanging in there and I love them dearly Carb on  Heck and for the price (@ $1250, you can buy an extra one, put it under the sofa and if anything ever were to go wrong…. for the price of last years chipped fuel injection systems $2495 you can have TWO systems…one on the motor and 1 still in the box!   Now THATS carrying backups!  We never connect the FI system to the distributer so you can still squirt WD-40 down the throat of the throttle body and get out of the turn lane!!!!  You NEED that assurance……..the old systems go out and…well….. there you are.  JD still wants his KPD’s (that’s knobs per dollar for you unprofessionals) —–Oh and there’s LPD’s…..lights p…….$  Follow this project…I tell ya one day it’s coming for us all…..

Brought our coach (Janie & Mine) coach back from the house yesterday  2.16.18 morning 1 and you ALL know JayGee has FiTech!  JayGee FiTech 12 Our first install, we put it in on a Tuesday night and I drove it to the Keys to a Sunshine Statesmen rally the next day!  JayGee FiTech 7  Wow, what a ride…there and back…didn’t miss a beat!  SOLD!!!

Anyway, more went on 2.16.18 morning 10  That’s the one we put the Honda generator in last week 2.16.18 morning 7  Holding tank and maserator already in pretty soon we’l be moving inside on the MacDaddy dash and the new dash AC system  Sheppard AC 41  The other dash AC installs will preceed this install so it’s going to get jiggy here pretty quick on this stuff Tom dash 41 and of course Ruby  Ruby dash rebuild 3

Gotta go,……. see ya later.
