tthanks for that response guys……. I can see those creative juices …..don’t burn up the lap top!
Like I said, a decision like this needs some thought……….I like the one about Olds blue but in bed liner ……is there such a thing as a blue orange?
Monster green but hey, that’s their signature. There were several silvers and metallic. …….it’s a tough one! As a great philosopher once said, “Let me sleep on it……..”. Big decision, it got a few looks ..top up tooling to the house and back. Another successful round trip!
The plan is to trailer it to Talahassee. I wouldn’t call it a trailer queen but I’m not ready to trust something with real wood floorboards….well, 1 board 3/4″ plywood where the metal floor used to be. One guy asked why I screwed up such a classic car…..Hey, a good question but trust me when I tell you one of the best things we did to that true rust bucket was to cut the trunk off, throw away the interior and the only part of the original electrical system I used was the ignition switch! Its wired….the way I wanted it to be. See that’s a nice thing about trying to do something with such a piece of junk#whatever…….. There’s a shot of my….floorboard right there! Yeah, it needs a little more love but we’re running out of time so come and see if I’ve updated the floorboard at the rally……
BTW, for those of you going to the GMCMI convention in Talahassee…….it’s been a while since I’ve been to one of these….just too much happening….but last convention I made a promise to do what I could to go……I mean its in Florida! Not right down the street but still, I have such an awesome crew and we’ve been doing some interesting builds that we’re bringing “§μ¤Ωθ₩¥¥¿” or whatever it gets branded, Jared and his 23′ low rider formally “Tin Soldier” sports an Olds 350 with 4:10 gears, an Applied mandrel bent 3″ exhaust system….6 wheel air ride and he can just about throw sparks!
Ruby……could very well make an appearance with Phillip at the wheel of the Manny/Hum V turbo diesel…..if we can get that dang slipper on her foot!!!
JayGee will be there as my flop with its Ikea kitchen and his gator dash====News Flash===== a special guest, Mark Creel from Alabama RV will be bunking with me so in the evenings after all the festivities when all good boys and girls should be in bed come on over to the vendor area and hang out with us for a bit. Mark said he’s bringing the “real Creel grill”….we have one Phillip welded up too
(I mean what else can u do with this many 16.5″ rims!)
So chances are there might be a fire if local fire laws allow…….
There’s alote for all of us to catch up on, its one of the great things about these get togethers…….I’ve been away way too long….sorry.
So anyway, if you’re gonna be there we will be too. Oh yeah….and the Coke “Gadabout” is getting some new graphics and an under dash add on to their 78 …type 3 dash AC /heat system. New Senden compressor with the Summit adapter….check all that out but to taking a look at that coach will be neat.
So yeah, much to do there…..hope to see you there. If you haven’t made your reservations, give Jim Weeks a call…her number is on the GMCMI web site.
Ok…..so it begins, the big push to the show. We have a limited time to do a pile of work….the guys know the deal….time to squish frogs! I may be forced to do the punkings here in the evening like I did tonight……I’ve always said, “there’s always nightlight to 4am”!
Thanks for dropping by, thanks for your support as Bartles & James once said….hope to see you at the rally and watch the next 2 weeks as we yank our hair out!
Last but certainly not in the least ……say happy birthday to Dr. Seuss who’s birthday….no, not the Who’s birthday but the Doctor would have been 114…..Saturday was Dr. Seuss day …Janie caught me at the UF plant fair with my Dr. Seuss “Life’s a balancing act” shirt……happy birthday manOops, the camera does that…. ….
Anyway….got this anniversary card for our 40th……thanks and there’s Janis…pullin my leg again!!!! The card brand is Avanti
Mutcedes 455SL
Cool name, here is what came to mind. doberman up front then fade to some other dog at the rear like…dalmatian, st Bernard, German Sheppard or husky. Break out the air brush.
or you could do more body work on the rear to give it a GMC feel, then any paint scheme will work.
You guys have tooo much fun!
