The Co-op: We have POWER……….

We have another awesome weekend here in Florida and also a weekend for doing things I can’t during the week.  Tough life, I have to park Ralph to put one of our new motors with FiTech through it’s paces Sheppard electricals 18  Oh Boy!

Lemme show yousomething first that you may need to do for your coach.  I’m talking about extracting the 40 year old wire wadd from so many past “good intentions”.  What I mean by that is the previous owner didn’t on purpose create a rats nest of wires.  They got excited on some doo-dad…got it, put it in and there it is.  Years of doing that and …well does your living area electrical system look like this?  Sheppard electricals 5  Hey, that doesn’t look so bad……look closer… there are power cords connected into things, then you open the box and pull out the hidden stuff  Sheppard electricals 6Then the “extra “stuff in the bottom of the closet    Sheppard electricals 7  Sheppard electricals 3

and inside the box too!  All of this is dangerous!  YOU need to know what’s in there……… the beast is yours now and you need to know how to fix it…well someone needs to make sure it’s safe.  Automatic fire suppression is really good but get rid of the fire hazards at the same time.

So after finding the AC and DC systems in this coach not reliable actually starting a FIRE in MY HOUSE!  Oh bunky, I can’t put up with this!

Here is the electrical compartment rewired Sheppard electricals 14with the closet….a closet again  Sheppard electricals 16Their fresh Honda EV-6010 is completely rewires with the “flat 4” the new remote harness Sheppard electricals 12AC wiring is boxed, the ATC fust holder and switch is the new maserator system.  With the living area batteries shifted up front to give plenty of ventilation the the generator, I’m rewiring this as a late model coach….a 2 ga. power wire front to back.  Original 1973 model had an 8ga. wire in some but many had no connection to the generator…..bad idea!  With reworking the walls, we can run the 2ga. wire as the did originally on late mode coaches…throught the walls.  With the engine electrical system rewired I feel NOW this coach can be called reliable….electrically  Sheppard AC 41“Oops there goes another rubber tree……..” I’ll trim out this project Monday…….

In the meantime this morning…Saturday…my day to heal wounds….I’m doing electicals on our new motor stand mercedes motor stand 1Oh BOY…see ya later..
