The Co-op: This week will be the changing of the lift

Not to be confused with any diaper duty, with only 1 lift to get these puppies overhead, folks are lined up in the mechanical “Q” for their turn.

Coming in as usual before dawn the lift has been holding Marco up bout long enoughAny suspension, brake, fuel system or drive train work usually will need to be done on our operating table over in our surgery wing (mechanical building)

Marco is getting a complete drive train renewfuel tanks set up for FiTech fuel injection, bearings and brakes, his radiator I think was holy, chassis clean up and undercoat….basically bout everything on his underside.

The Monster transmission sitting under his fresh 455 with FiTech calling the shots should do awesome.

As soon as Marco lives again, another Monster transmission goes onto this awesome 73′ road rocket 23′.sitting there discussing matters with JayGee.  They both have FiTech, I mean I have to check this stuff out first…..right!

I have to tell ya because of so many coaches being found…..coming from everywhere with their new stewards wanting to get them back on the road, we could easily stop restoration production and simple do what’s needed to get all these survivors back out there.  Heck, we can’t do that!  I mean turning old to new is our gig……waking up old war horses that come in with Capt. Hook though is also something importantWe’re pushing hard to get 2 coaches at least running by Thanksgiving…..not a delivery date still we set targets.

BTW, the coach just above will be up for a new steward soon.  I’ve known this coach well over a decade….been sitting on pavement several years and now he needs a new “forever home”. Honda generator, early 4 bag rear suspension, Alcoas, twin Pinguins, visor, latest model Norcold frig. and check out this wild outside storageYep an opening bedroom window storageThe interior is neat too!  If you’re looking for a GMC, this could be yours……stay tuned.

So yeah, it’s frustrating for everyone, the time it takes do do this stuff but with only the guys we have progress is measured.

“And the beat goes on……..”

There was a thread on Facebook this weekend about OTHER vehicles the GMC community spends their efforts on….. Amezing, I see many of u out there not only put your trousers on the same way as us but are deeply devoted to other outrageous, out of the mainstream vehicles….Corvairs, Crosleys, low rider Gremlin……what else……guess that wraps it up that these classic Motorhomes attract the more unique seekers of exciting rolling stock.  Good…then u guys understand what it takes to do this and why trying to hurry work is just not where its at.

Along with all this old iron laying around we also pay our bill now doing other thing like “footing up” this 2001 toasterbox.Ripping off those goofy, dated stickers, repainting rock guard bed liner on the bottom this Tiffen monster says what it is……..a white toaster that’s ready for some fun!  The family that owns this will have no problem getting any fun left in this puppy out.  I can appreciate that and what this before old thing into a snappy big white whale!

It takes all sorts of work to challenge our team.  Waiting to hear back on the next step for our Hot Wheels entry..Can you believe that 1776-1976 vinyl spare tire cover is still on duty!.THIS was obviously another real barn find.

Ok, that’s enough, the day will be on soon, going to be a big week…it needs to be….. we’re now 2 workers short…….it’s all good but it does make us short handed…..1 new guy in has awesome work ethic…..hope its a fit……thanks for being a part of what’s going on around here….some possible great news on substituting the original GMC plastic body molds….stay tuned…….See ya tomorrow.

All I need are a couple of 18.5 volt Lithium Polimer batteries and maybe a miniature Flux Capacitor to make this twin motor mothers worry road rock to come alive….with the weed eater motor alone the critter is scary!  Stay tuned to see if I can hurt myself………
