The Co-op: The molds look great

Its the first of the month and time to pay storage on the molds….and a good excuse to see how our children were doing.  Can’t wait to have access to them when we get them all tranfered to the shop.   They’re all just sitting there waiting ..Some rust but after being stored so long outside…..I’m just happy we got to them before they were scrapped.  Still they have a scrap value in the $30,000 range….there are a pile of them……and they are big…..and heavy!

Its cooler this morning waiting for sunrise here in Florida……guess someone has started to close the blast furnace doors signaling the end of another summer.  Hey, I’m ready…..it’s been hot!

At the same process of sealing the windows, we’re also refinishing the frames with trim black. So you know, most window leaks occur between the window frames and the body.  There is original worn out burly tape sealing the frame to the body.  DON’T take the windows out to reseal them!  Create a seal in place with black RTV.  ain’t it funny how folks slather up seams….and STILL don’t stop the water!.  When you are trying to seal for leaks don’t get paranoid trying to stop it fast.  Chances are the leak has been there for a while….it’s more important to keep your work clean…..fibbing does not make it seal better!  Bag off the area….scrape all that old nasty looking stuff out and do it right.    Now doesn’t this look MUCH better?...There’s a video on the web site under “video blog” on the front page about this.  If you need any of the sealants we use give me a call

We have the Argosy project getting sealer/ primer on the top rear metal covers…Airstreams are made of aluminum there so the metal must be treated

.Here’s the full wing door closed up on the recent “wedding photo booth” project .…
