The Co-op, The attack of the expandable foam…

It’s Friday, the guys have really been humping… we’re a little… now lets not get bold here…. but good stuff happened and I wanted to end the week with some neat stuff I’ve been watching unfold around here.

We’ve got Fandango back in the big building after it’s doctor visit over on the lift.  Man, I’m likin more the powder coated black hardware on the Zip Dee awning.   3.24.17 morning 1  Have had a question as to how the interior was trimming out on Fandango, we’re starting the final “pic list” or squawk list to others.  I pulled off the side molding… the guys must have missed deep cleaning the polish off the mate surface after the wet sand and buff step.  Guys take this as a lesson, you MUST clean the surface with wax & grease remover before sticking the trim AND you must spread adhesion promoter on before sticking the trim….. if you don’t it won’t stay…. that simple

So here is a pick of the galley area in Fandango  3.24.17 morning 2  So now for the story about the title of todays plunking…. everyone knows our coach incorporated expandable foam insulation which at that time was pretty space age.  Given that fact sometimes folks carry an idea too far.  This coach came in, a new purchase with little known of the previous owner…..  it’s turn up on the lift for a mechanical review looksee we found a disturbing sight foam belly 7  The entire underside of the coach had been foamed!  Digging it out to get to the holding tanks we found them cracked but holding because of being encapsulated with foam ! foam belly 4.  No foolin, from the rear cross member to the front step the entire underside was foamed then contour cut to the frame  foam belly 1  to include the fuel tanks, hoses and all….. including the exhaust system which had burned away!  foam belly 3

I bet he was a toxic stinky Pete till all that foam burned away…. do you think dangerous…… Duhhhhh  Phillip is “diver down” digging into all that foam… I mean that HAS to come out!  foam belly 5

Man you just never know what makes sense to some folks….

Ross V. is dropping by today to get his new toy weighed for a title transfer…… kinda odd but OK, he will get to see his new Solid Surface countertop.  This is Avonite solid surface material… the same stuff they’ve made bowling balls with for years…. hard stuff!.

solid surface 2He has an undermount stainless steel deep sink, an original blender and a Hi/lo 2 burner stovetop.  Danavan has been working hard to also restyle the vanity top in Ross’s original wet bath toosolid surface 1  I kinda feel like Lawrence Welk… Thatsa nicea job boys and now for a bathroom top single sink buggie…. Ana 1 Ana 2 Ana take it away boys……  Nice countertop man… now WHAT can we do about that orange lower slider door?????  Hmmmmm……

Finally today JD, we’re down to the guide coach on your body work  JD primer coat 1  All those pits and stripes are gone and now it’s time to flatten back out the body  JB body repair 6  Stay tuned for more  JD primer coat 3

Finally there’s some really big news coming soon about a coach we built back in 2005…. I would call it something very special and it may be coming back to us…. stay tuned……  Ken-first-drive-10  See ya later hey and have a great weekend.. I’ll be in and out so take it light and fun … always….
