The Co-op: Really, this project IS important.

Forgot to give you a report on my Road test yesterday….the ride height needs adjustment and the left turn signal indicator on the dash does nor flash.  See…there will always be something, keep a note pad and a pen to write doen stuff…questions whatever while you drive.  When you get home you’ll be so happy the stress is off you’ll forget anything you learned on the trip.  It will still be there when you go back to the coach so keep up with your punch list.

Moving on, really……. this Mercedes motor stand IS important.mercedes motor stand 10Having an opportunity to actually drive with a motor and transmission is the best way to KNOW the drive train is sound before you spend all that hell to get it all up into the cioach……….a huge help!  If you haven’t followed this project before……we are taking this poor ole car Mercedes-recover-7The V8 motor DID run on 6 but hey, we all know this machine has drifted too far down the hole.  Best thing we can do is repurpose it to give us a way to connect a GMC drive train to it and drive it around……COOL but like I said really important.

This weekend was deeassing the electrical system.  The welding the 2 pieces togetgher is Phillip and Jared…being Mr. Wire, it’s my chicken to do this part.  Yep, the more you pull the more rust you will find  mercedes motor stand 9It sure looked like the car was built around the heater box……. took Grandads 4lb. hammer to persuade it to come out  mercedes motor stand 8Hey, we don’t need no stinkin air conditioner in THIS buggy!  Next it’s the original motor that hasta go!  mercedes motor stand 12What a motor in the day….V8, mechanical injection, double overhead cam, bla..bla..bla.  Today though it’s a relic and this one like I said is too far gone to care about  mercedes motor stand 11Hey, you havta think of the greater good.  Anyone want this drive train?  Gimme a call.  It will come out next  mercedes motor stand 13But with this puppy out back, I don’t think we’ll miss that pile up front at all  mercedes motor stand 10Still deep in the bowls of our skunkworks, stay tuned……..

Today is get this puppy out  John G 1We still havecharging issues on the dash AC, the FiTech fuel injection system is showing low vacuum, we need to look into that and as you can see extract all our test stuff….wish us luck.

We also have the original cruise control to work on.  Hey, the FiTech is to much fun I don’t wanna use a cruise control!  Hey, I understand…stay tuned to see if the ants get this cake eaten………

OK, the week is on…Jared just pulled in.  I’ll see if I have more later…watch for “updated” on the titla line.  See ya later.
