The Co-op: Not just GMC’s

The fact that we have this 20,000sf shop, mechanics, painters, upholstery guy, certified welder and all the other folks we have attracted with our place, yes GMC Motorhomes is what we’ve known for 20 years…. all that gives us the opportuning to do so many other things.

If it weren’t for leaking valve covers we would have delivered this 1978 Ford F250 long bed  Bruce truck 8  Got it in, carb and valve covers were laying in the seat.  Now with in dash AC, just nothing but nice interior Bruce truck 10  Here we had to replace the turn signal switch  Drive train is 4wd, manual 4 speed (granny gear) Bruce truck 11 with a 351 Cleveland -Industrial with a 4bbl Holley Bruce truck 13.  We have a secondFord pickup coming out soon too… watch for it.

Yes, I will work on Airstreams, heck I’ll work on anything worthy… check out this project.  This is  a later 60’s Airstream travel travel trailer  Photo booth 1  Cute little bugger but it’s not staying like this….. step 1… remove the side of the body  Photo booth 7 Designing a jig to curve steel, we are making an opening sidewall Photo booth 6  The project is the build a “wedding photobooth” .  One side looks mild mannered  Photo booth 8 While the other side is open for business  Photo booth 4  We haven’t talked much about this project yet, stay tuned for more.

Another project I particularly am enjoying is the interior for this 1957 Chevy Belair stretch limo 57-Chevy-limo-8 The above pic was stretching the cloth (not vinyl) top.  Now inside I’m having my fun with the light and AV wiring  57 reboot 1  The headliner isn’t the original hung cloth… being a “moneymaker” it needs something a little toughter than that stuff.  How bout a padded sections headliner in the front 57 reboot 13 and back 57 reboot 12  We have a box with 2 12″ sub drivers connected to a real 1000 watt mono bridge bass amp. with 2 sets to 2 way component speaker systems and a 15″ flat screen for DVD’s.  Now this is FUN stuff for me.  A badass 350/350 drive train 57 reboot 5 with rear air shocks.

So with all that going on you might ask… where are all of the GMC’s?  Oh they’re still here too…. this is what happens when you are found out to care about the work you do.

Here is Steve’s repaired rear frame showing the new brake parts installed before.  9.30.17 morning 1  With no one producing a quality E brake system…. we are prototyping a new 2 wheel system with lower friction built in….. stay tuned.  Now these are the things we do, we have done all these things for a long time and I feel we are doing our best to support our customers and their projects.

Those of you who have known me for any time know I can be excitable… and I would tell you that’s true probably because I care too much.  You will find most specialty shops even will not take on some of the things we do…. Why?  A smart business man looking to maximize his labor profits run away from specialty projects like the stuff I say bring it on in……. that’s the stuff we do.  That may be why we have so many interesting projects…. Great and thanks for the support and your business.

Also if you’ve known me I do get defensive when others try and make themselves look big by trying to drag others down.  I will thank all of you over the years counseling me to just forget those jerks wanting to make themselves heard.  All of you are right but when you are the one in the sights it is hard to do.

Recently on Facebook another one of those “Greyhounds running for the rabbit” seems it important to rag down others and work they do.  In years past I would buy a plane ticket and have a one on one conversation with that person.  Even though Tom Petty says “Don’t back down” actually the person with the most to say usually will be the quietest one in the room.  So mouth off man, only make you that much smaller in the eyes of those who matter.

See… wasn’t that a pleasant way to sat go *^$$-off?  So there, that’s all you will hear about this subject.  Trying to build yourself up for others to look small is so superficial, one day I hope to not have to deal with that sort of thing buty hey…. looks like I attract people like that.  If you feel as I do, I won’t say inymore… I’m a dealer and a professional in this business…if you feel as I do, you step out and let folks like that know how petty they really are.  Maybe if enough people will show how little they care about his noise he will stop.  I’m again taking the high road……. but never forget under all this calmness, I am still a southern gentleman and I do care!

It’s the weekend, I can spend my time as I see fit.  A big post today… just want you to know I will not be pushed around though…. help me keep everyone saying only good things about eachother.  There’s enough political, autocratic, Ego, skit so crap in our lives already…. lets all just say “I’m mad as Hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!     ….. There, I feel better……. see ya later……..  Viva La GMC
