OK, the second design by Delco is a clearly stronger, safer, more reliable component. No longer using a clearly dangerous circuit for our coaches both are good things. PERIOD! Arguing that means you are flying in the face of technical progress!
How you want to connect and what logic you use to connect it is up to you. There are many ways to make love but all have a similar intent. There are several ways to connect it to yield different outcomes.
This is how WE connect it…..I do not want to wire something a reasonably competent mechanic count trouble shoot. I do not add fancy components grown in Europe that cannot be easily replaced and I don’t want something the owner cannot understand and remember how it works.
I’m personally shocked and embarrised segments of the GMC community feel its more important some everyone to listen to them!
Children, now play nice in the sand box or I’ll have to call your mother! People WANT to do good but make it so complicated and they will not have the benefit of better things. Its a disservice doing that to those that wanna know….stop it!
Why can’t you just say great and get behind something in a positive way and THEN add to the excitement not try and step on the people to make yourself look big.
If you’ve known me for any time you know I don’t play that game! So guys, admit to the forums the new idea in the alternator a is a good idea, get behind it and add to its success or stop confusing the rest of us and stop blowing smoke.
Ok, my blood pressure has hopes of returning to normal. I promised Janie I wouldn’t get worked up so guys, everyone sees you….unfortunately your wrong end is showing, please pullum up…..
I’ll post some uplifting stuff later after breakfast…….see ya then
Ah, that’s better……I felt I needed a good breakfast this morning looking at the rocks where pushing so Dixie Belle was patronized this morning.
Today we ride! Color accurate and ready to run……
this project has been going on 2 years now……(see all that stuff on TV never TELL you that about custom stuff at this level! This is a 1972 Revcon 250. It sports a Toro drive train now breathing through FiTech fuel injection.
The interior is Avonite (bowling ball stuff) solid surface counters, Euro-style sink.and well, I think the pic says it all. Dash? Kept a bunch of old, added a bunch of newHe.g. guys, we have a red wire hanging under the dash…..check it out………Jared and Phillip fitted a Honda EV-6010 water cooled generator in place of that steampumk lumberjack that it hadDuse, I’m stoked for THIS moonshot! Stay tuned tomorrow for THAT!….
12 volt compressor driven cooling unit #2 this concept looks good from the surface and still may yield success but this is what happens integrating after market modifications to equipment like this.learning toward a nostalgia restoration the goal is to convert this older Norcold 3 way obsorption cooling unit to a new 12 volt hi efficiency compressor driven unit. Now the theory is sound with the coach looking propane and going to Europe where the AC power is wrong but after market modifications sometimes have unexpected outcomes….basically this cooling unit would net free a popsicleIf it won’t freeze a popsicle there’s something wrong! So its double labor to swap it out……..hey it’s going to be original……looking…..Hey, and with that as the goal, we will succeed! This morning Phillip said after 5 minutes its doing better than the other one…..looks like success! Stay tuned.
So its after 8am, the day is one and I need to get out there.
As far as I am concerned, understand and support a 1 wire alternator or not, I’m out of talking about it unless you want one and you want to talk about integrating it yourself. I’ve called Jim K. and offered to talk to his builder on this to be able to offer them. If you have a rebuilder nearby I’ll be happy to talk with them as to what its about so you can have yours remanufactured second design. “Go where you wanna wanna go, do what you wanna wanna do” as the song goes, we here have better things to talk about.
See ya tomorrow…….
