And just like everyone putting so much time and energies into any restoration…….the decision on colors raises its angry head now with our Mercedes motor stand project.
I’ve been going to sleep lately watching the Motor Trend I think channel watching all the angles on working with wheeled machines and I will say them not trying to make some drama script and doing bad acting now they clue y in there’s a script but not trying to drama act things are alote more watchable.
I’ll say the drives and stresses are more accurate. I mean any builder worth u have stuff done with them…..the time table drama can’t be real because if it were the finished product would not be truly something to Uuuuuu and Aaaaaaaa about.
And what about this picking of colors? There’s alote more to it than they show. Its not about matching your pets eyes or making all of your vehicles match……..at least I hope not! I mean what does the vehicle say…..what is it holding its place in time to say? Is it a boy or girl…… Week or strong…..prettyboy or the survivor……..expressive or formal……..all of that and more if you talk to a designer.
Ok so here’s the question and I really WOULD like you to tell me your thoughts on this. May sound silly but put your coach in place of this thing and you’ll see what I mean maybe….maybe not, it could be just as stupid as it looks on the surface but bear with me.
Each time we build up a drive train now, we will be able to test it now @ as fast as it used to take to lace a motor up on a test stand…now we can drive the drive train together before we put it in the coach. So now….picking the exterior color…….it’s a tool…..cast metal? Black? Desert tan? Red? Yellow? We could also not put any more into it and leave it a bomber. Someone suggested I name it “Hindenburg”………stop that! So study these pics for me and give me your opinion. Heck, after doing a little body work (very little) and primed the bare and repaired areas I really like the way it looks just like that! Now don’t tell me YOU never had a car in primer before?
Hey, this is my day off getting ready for another 4 days of 10 hour work and I can spend it any way I want….so here are the pics….give me a color.Oh yeah, I forgot to tell ya what ever color we choose it will be bed liner……yep.colored bedliner……….. ok so a color and maybe a name ………Panzer…… Red Neck Pantera……. for this worthy specimen……….
See ya tomorrow
