It’s hard to stumble into work after a 3 1/2″ motorbike ride in 48degree temperature…at least for me I could feel every inch of my skin pulling into the shop this morning It’s gotten so crazy around here that Ada has to preview my Emails and take my cell phone from me during the day or I’d never get to work. Hey still, if you really need something gimme a call and ask Ada or Shirley that it’s important and we can talk. I just can’t believe how many calls I get from Google wanting to update my listing…Hey if Google wants to talk to me…Email me. What, are we going backwards in communication?
Anyway, they print out some important Emails I get I need to see….see, I’m going backwards in communication…..what can I say, with my Mom a librarian I just found reading and seeing is good communication. So pushing the on button on the lap top signifies to me I’m on too, Ada had printed n Email from Cedric and family from being owned by Ruby….thanks guys to know you’re watching…and yes I am having a blast working Ruby…… Through all of this regiment of plunking as I go, it’s good to know folks are enjoying some of this I everyone else……those with projects in here…those that have no where else to see crap like this….yes and those that seem their mission in life is to troll me……. thanks for dropping by……I just wanted to say that first, I usually end plunkings with a plub like that so here it is up front…..Zap!!!
I’m glad they are enjoying this…I’m wamer than feeling it important to put a knitted cap on your head…too cold for me, there is a real reason I’m in Florida and everyone else leaves in the summer…..woop, there it is! Gonna be in the 70’s today to I’ll be able to work…
Yesterday was good and not so…First the good……. OK, here is view 1 of Ruby’s dash completely unfinished but in with the dash AC vents operating…take a look The side panels are in and will probably stay in place….wiring and insulation can be slipped into place without removing them….access, a goal I wanted to have with all this new wiring, etc.
Now the not so good. Pulling the horn button….I found something the GM boys did not understand about sealing the original windshield……. there is an overlap of the plastic panels that make up the windshield lip……pulling in the windshield gasket dry (with no sealant ) will cause a water leak that drips right into the horn button
Yep, that’s the steering wheel nut in the middle of all that rust! Capcom…we have an issue………… First is to pull out the Freon propelled super German “Rost-off” It freezes the metal trying to break the corrosion…….then with the torque wrench we use on the wheel lug nuts…something had to happen
The nut came off! now I’ll have to dig through the rust…hack out the metal horn button to get to the pulling threaded holes………goin diver down on this one today…wish me luck!. BTW, look closely at the last pic at the threaded shft…the steering wheel was installed straight on the steering column…see the hash mark on the top of the shft…check yours….you might be surprised how over the past 40 years someone has installed a steering box wrong. That hash mark needs to be straight forward and on top…step 1 of centering your steering……
So I can feel Jared showing up in a moment…lets get together later today….see ya then…..
