The Co-op: Day before Irma

Ird still dark, I’m up from habit….curfew now is keeping me at the house.  Hope to make a run to check out the shop.  Weather casters on TV are hyperventilating having something big to talk about.   Plenty of “dirty laundry”!  I have the house ready 20170909_113950Better than a card…thanks Elton S. for the provisions basket…. Janie said keep it plastic wrapped to keep it dry….one thing you now have to work on is the days after…..the hurricane will blow over…. The bigger hassle than keeping your head down is the recovery time after Irma.  I hope those that lived thru the altercation in Texas are doing now.  Are u ready for Tuesday?  Hurricane Charlie took out power for 10 days…. Living thru that sucks!  Hey, this is a bugun’.  The clean will be too.  I have the electric scooter to make the 3 miles to the shop.  We have JayGee… Our coach peeking in the window behind the last pic, full of gas, l.p., battery, water and an empty holding tank.  Don’t do this but I can connect JayGee’s generator to the house…. No AC but I can run everything else.  There’s a story on how Hurricane Charlie effected us on the web site story called “Any port in the storm”.  My guess we’ll live thru that again.  We made it then so I think we will make it again.  The shop has a 600amp main feed so it should get power back quickly….. We may shut down the house and move JayGee to the shop.  With 11 50amp outlets on the building we will be able to help folks.  We have to get there first.  “Evacuation” for events like this mean get away from the coast because of the storm surge (Tsunami) waves.  Hunker down to fight the wind and from there what will happen will…. Happen.  20170909_104440“Ralph” my Sidekick will be my ride… 4wd, good a.c., tow bar, electric scooter in back, tarps, jumpers, slicker suit, phone charger….Ralph is ready to help.  Its not the storm only, there is “whatcha gonna do the day after” and we are ready.   20170909_102819The “Troll pile” will have to fin for themselves… Our Hondas are inside.  20170909_102500 Hatches battened down at the shop, house ready for the weather and ready for the “week after”, that Co-op is here and ready.  I’ll try and post during and after.

Thanks for your support….. Stay tuned for the fun!
