The Co-op: Dash #3 takes shape

It seems like I’m moving at the speed of stampeding turtles but learning as you go takes more time and also things to be going slowly but slowly the volume of works starts to come together and for the # 3dash AC/heat MacDaddy dash made it to this point yesterday  4.12.18 morning 13  With the passenger dash pad refinished the MacDaddy dash structure is secured and BOOM…there it is.  Here is what we started with  Sheppard AC 6  Junior is repairing and prepping #3’s side panels and glove box  4.12.18 morning 14  Back on putting the dash together, the MacDaddy clusters were prewired now all that connects in and the final wire extraction can begin  4.12.18 morning 9  Here is the view from the driver seat  4.12.18 morning 11  Before, here are the wires in the dash I removed  4.12.18 morning 3 Unbelievable!  Now with the dash getting wired in, the other wires can be extracted…I keep all THAT in another box…..this is years of an enthusiast putting in every doodad that’s came along in 20 years of doodads!  good intentions but overall sloppy execution.  4.12.18 morning 4

With both top side rails resealed and the interior of the coach taken out from the open rear, we reinstalled the rear door in preparation to go outside over to mechanicals.

4.12.18 morning 5

Willie broke bread with me this morning as he did for several months last year working with us on building his coach.

4.12.18 morning 7 We got hid Honda EV-6010 in the hole, now we need to connect it up to his coach.  4.12.18 morning 8.  I lied……. going over to the palate to pull the last Honda we found we do have another on about ready to go….. let me know if you would like it.  4.12.18 morning 6

Oops I’m late, the guys have the morning meeting going on,  I’ll be back for page 2 of this later…..see ya then.

Back and again, the ants are on the cake……. JD’s coach is going through it’s final checks mostly waiting for Daddy to pick it up  4.12.18 morning 18  behind that is lined up Luis carriage  4.12.18 morning 17 All but through it’s paces sports twin Yakama “Space Cases”….very cool  4.12.18 morning 19  Check out the textured rocker panels and bumper, we put a 4″ satin body mold panel on the middle of the bumper……Today, it gets “blown up” testing for water leaks  4.12.18 morning 20  We’re suspecting the front clearance lights but we’ll see….stay tuned.

And it’s the final ride for Nancy & Willies Ole Troll….may you live on in Stovocor.

4.12.18 morning 16  That’s the pile of Onan Trolls we have out back!

So I guess that’s enough for today….looking back at these posts I’m as long winded as ever….sorry about that but hey, where else can you go on the internet to see this sorta stuff….it’s all pretty much an unfiltered look at the stuff we do every day.  Folks have asked me why I spend all this time doing this sort of thing….I mean they’re telling me no one else does that!  If I’m outa line spending time doing this and it’s not that appreciated hey, I’l good with that…lets say this is for me….to blow off some steam….always having to be in other folks world it’s hard sometimes to keep all of these projects balanced.  ALL of the projects in here have equal importance so it’s important to stay on out targets.  Targets are seldom bull’s-eye so we do all we can.  Again, we don’t spend money to hurry things, it’s spent doing the most complete job we can….if you don’t you could be wasting your money so bear with us……believe me our labor output has really increased over the past 6 months with more to be done.  Thanks for your support and for your visits here….If I offend or upset you in any way here…….push Esc………..See ya next time .

Keep posting, Jim! I love seeing the progress made on our coach. Our Texas Tux will be shown off with pride at the next GMCMI rally!
