The Co-op: Big day…..delivery day!

This day will come for every restoration, “You don’t have to go home…….hey, hit the road but you can’t do that here!”  Tail Gator is going home to its new forever home.I’m starting something new on deliveries.  Many of our customers are “new owners” and as such its always been a struggle for me to a get so much information into the babies new parents ……it’s a struggle for them…and me for that matter.  You can’t just waltz in here and drive away If you’ve never owned one of these.  In fact you will need to sign a waver if you don’t allow me to try and prepare you for the learning curve in front of a new owner.

I’ve put together a beta program to try and structure the basic education needed to drive off in you 12,000 lb. Hot Rod!

Tail Gator and his new family will be “beta 1” in this communication attempt.  I’m not charging for this time……I win when you know more about the log you’re riding!  So today will be a new experience for me too.  Right now I have 24 talking points, hope I can do this in 1 day!  I hope I don’t turn their brains to mush…….wish us luck.

Oh Cedric…….ya know what’s on this palate that just came in?Ird big and it’s just for Ruby……one day you too will be in my class but until then we have some work to do on Ruby……its coming though…….believe…….  Behold, your floor woodgrain matching, washed vacuum formed doors and drawers have arrived!  Jared couldn’t wait, this morning I see he made some progressCHeck out in this pic how well the texture and color of these match to the floor.Well, a little hard to see but it does……and I really like the routingThey are all going in now so stay tuned….plugging all those holes really brings the finish right along. So Cedric Emails me often as well so as we get to this point telling me he’s one of my “Pose Posse” so my guess today he will hang a pic of the awesome cabinet doors around his neck showing off the sonagram!

Things are moving on this project…….hey and a walk back in our exterior “cocoon” we find the original coach stripes are being pealed away From the soon to be tribute coach to the EM-50The trick to this is to remove the decal AND it’s 45 year old adhesive without gouging the original paint surface.  Why you ask?

Every gouge makes a digit in the surface of the coach

ITS GONNA B 8AM AND OUR MORNING MEETING…..LEMME GET THAT BEHIND ME….I’LL BE BACK…………..

Ok, the guys have their jobs, no apparent water leaks in Tail Gator after a frog strangling rain early this morning so we’re waiting for Elvis to enter the building.

Back to removing 45 year old original body decals on our EM-50 project:

Once you gouge the hopefully flat body, now filling and sanding will wear out your arms.  We use an “eraser wheel” on a high speed air toolird literally a gummy eraser wheel on a stick that grinds only the decal and adhesivedesigned to remove pesky thin pin stripes you WILL use a few of them!So I’m already pushing lunch time, need ta go……see ya tomorrow…..
