After making your selection of one of these classics the first thing to do is get the “mechanicals” checked out. There are 3 categories of issues having to do with renovation s of any vehicle….interior, exterior and mechanicals. No matter how pretty the coach is, if it won’t go …….. the motor part of the home makes it just a place to stay. No matter what it looks like it has to ..go so being a recent purchase the owners have dropped the coach off for us to perform a “mechanical review” looking at the chassis, brakes, fuel system, drive train, suspension steering…..you’ve got the picture, what do we have after 45 years of good intentions?Sorry for the fuzzy shot….. As you can kinda see the coach has been well cared for….a testament to it’s last steward. A bunch of updates, Alcoas…. but still original air bags…is good condition
Love the post, do you think you could put a check list so to speak on what needs to be done on a mechanical check? Like check completion completion should be from this to this. If it’s lower or Higher it could be this that could be an issue etc. and then go to the next thing you check and how you check it. I only ask this because I live in Michigan and your to far to take my coach to.
I hear ya but this is such a small, narrow market there’s not enough potential for someone to put that together. We do it here in person as part of the mechanical review and discussion. It would be a book!
