The Co-op: A very good weeks work

The guys did an awesome drive bouncing around getting several projects moving forward.  let me show folks with their coach in here some updates…..BTW, THAT was the original intention of this page….communication is the key working with old equipment like this.  The “Daily Pose” page was put here for those folks…the rest of you are here to what?  Whatever that is welcome but remember, we’re here for our customers…

After seeing how bad the “working well” brakes were on the coach yesterday…… the work list grew on this one  2.9.18 morning 3  In my morning walk, Katlyn already has the backing plates stripped, cleaned and ready to build…..BTW, we’re changing all the rear bearings to new Timken bearings and seals…hey, we’re there  2.9.18 morning 2 Another good decision, we’re pitching “Bob” (Big Ole Bag) rear suspension also installing a safer quad bag system.  Probably pissed off a pile of people right here but Bunky, with any other system…loose a rear wheel bearing and you are on a Landall flat bed trailer.  To me, that’s important…..  This coach is also getting a FiTech fuel injection system….Why?  Well, looking at the burn mark thru the middle of the motor 2.9.18 morning 4With the turkey tray still in you can easily see there’s been just too much heat thru the middle of the motor….If you do not have the exhaust crossovers of your intake blocked off…a really good bet this is what the inside of your motor looks like!  1 grain of that crap in the long place and you motor is toast!  No way around it…..  Actually the intake on this motor had cracked on the sidewall AND the secondary ports….cannot use it we found another intake….had it cleaned, magnafluxed and rust killer coated.  As soon as I have my motor color added (that’s industrial grey) Phillip will start building up the FI susyem.  Without blocking off the crossovers, the fuel injection system will not work well…just a fact  .  Squeaky clean fresh from our machine shop this project is ready and will move fast next week.   2.9.18 morning 5.  Here are the rear wheels on the coach yesterday…bearings and all brake parts in which includes a cable going to our new 2 wheeled E brake system….$450 installed and ready for the quad bag system install .  You can see the cable going to the front wheel at the right of this pic2.9.18 morning 1

Got some licks in myself yesterday on Ruby.  Beginning the prototype reconstruction of the entry door latch assembly….. I got the catch into the door.  Note all the other cut-outs and holes in the jam where the Bargman latch was pulled out  cedric door 15  Also started running the das AC/heat system and installing vents on Ruby’s refinished dash  cedric door 16

Big Day, the Airstream wedding Photo-booth Kiosk moved into the big house after it’s skunkworks opening wall construction  2.9.18 morning 6The custom built steel sidewall halo and frame opens allowing for wedding shots……… yep! To make it move, you can already see the 24″, 500 pound electric servos at the side of the door.  Here is the finished off and painted extended tongue on the other Airstream we’re building up  2.9.18 morning 7  Remember the welding we did?  cedric door 10  Welding work done here is of the best quality….period!  If I sound a little testy about that…sorry

A new holding tank and maserator system is installed in this beauty and we pulled this coach…  2.9.18 morning 81 I build some 20 years ago with it’s new FiTech fuel injection, quad bag system, exhaust system, all brakes like you’ve been seeing and rocker panel and bumper blackout.  Check out the cool engine vents that were put in the front fenders.  Zoom in and see all that.

2.9.18 morning 9. Like I said…the guys really have been putting out the work.  With us shutting down our intake tunnel …..work like this will catch us up.  For those looking to schedule work, please wait and let us get on track…it’s better for us all.  So the thing that I also want to make is I’ve found the more popular we get the more Trolls we are attracting.  You may remember the first one 2 years ago…it’s grown as we have grown and I just wanted you guys to know better.  Challenge those that have other agendas……nuff said….

Gotta go…Jared took the day off so I do the morning meeting..see ya tomorrow.
