The Co-op: 80 degrees today? Wow, there is some nice weather down here!

Don’t throw something at me……… just like up north…your time of year is coming so it’s not that big a deal….unless it’s -40……. in that case you can throw something……

So we’re ready for as big week, I had a Sunday ride….very relaxing 2.12.18 morning 2 Found a couple of pics in my phone this morning…… last week I showed you the wedding photobooth…. here is the beast out in the sun before going in the big house  2.12.18 morning 4 can’t see anything special from the other side 2.12.18 morning 5 So now the electric servos hold the side up  2.12.18 morning 3

So anyway, with 2 Airstreams and an Argosy travel trailer it looks like these folks also are looking for quality work.

There’s been a thread out talking about floor construction.  Not wanting to getting involved still I wanted those considering a major thing like changing the floor structure of your coach…..slow down!  It’s great to have involved discussions about such things but if you ARE really thinking of doing something like that……. keep the floor the same structure that is there…… plywood.  Early coaches were only plywood, later modesl did have some insulation and a thin sheet of aluminum…. I think probably from the attorneys after catching the floor on fire with hot mufflers.

Why leave the floor wood?  First of all forget trying to make your coach lighter…you will not get any more mileage….better performance or anything like that.  I’ve put 14″ Mexican tile floors that did not effect anything…mileage, handling or anything like that.  Wood is actuslly a pretty good sound and heat insulator, taking that out you will be spending big bucks to just get back the sound and heat rejection.  Materials resonate differently, wood dampers sounds and vibrations….as far as catching on fire…everything will burn at some temperature.  Wood rot?  as long as you keep up with the leaks from the flexible body, I don’t think you will ever replace a wood floor you put in now…I mean who are you building this coach for anyway?  Oh, 1 other thing…… new materials means new “unexpected results” for changing materials and you may not know you made a mistake until the entire interior is on your messed up floor…….OUCH!  Don’t do that.  If you wanna dream and talk about that great……..I like that too but don’t change the construction of your floor!  Hey, if you do anyway lemme know how it goes……  Cedric-floor-2

Yes Cedric that was your floor….

7:30, the day starts soon so we’ll talk tomorrow.
