Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

(UPDATED) Sunday…headed out to Narcoossee with Eleganza….

……  I’ll be back but until then…..the word for today is “goopenpucky”….look it up on Google.  See ya later….

(UPDATE)  … Eleganza has taken a liking to the grass at our special placenot quite lizard season…see she’s a lizard hunter………..she digs the outdoors. But still checks her hunting grounds watching for the prizeA happy dog this Sunday…….

So something that’s becoming more apart as we see more and more coaches coming back into the fold after their 45 year existence on this planet ……we find more and more issues that need attention.it’s no accident that a finish like this has taken 2 1/2 YEARS….far longer the us or the owner never figured it would take.  I mean it’s certainly not just a pretty face……sure it’s buffed to 3000 but stuff like they never wanted to have to replace or even adjust the fan belts…..we found the Serpantine belt combination that worked.  Hey and you guys suffering with your fuel injection system cutting out on turns or big hills…..we added the “Forced Fuel ” intermediate tank system to the FiTech fuel injection. The dash was sick so the MacDaddy came into focus.  Windshields…new with Llumar Air80 heat rejecting clear film….. Quadbag, Ions, badass dash AC system and so much more…..YHIS is how you attack a restoration……it takes time, cash and a pile of eggs to make an omelet like thisBut see the thing we’re finding is more of the coaches we see for restoration need and want more and more of these things because the coaches need more and more to come back safely and reliably back to the road.

There is no president for ANY vehicle to be expected to do the same thing or better as it was designed to do 45 years before.  Guts really….think about that a minute….hpw can we expect these machines….no matter how well they were designed…..to keep going.  Do YOU have 45 year old particle board cabinets in your house?  Well you have a pile of it in your driveway!  And it will never get any better…..drop the mic!

We’ve done so much with so little for so long ….its impossible to glue it all back together!  Guys, understand its not 2o years ago and your coach has no water leaks……probably does now….and the water has done damage.

Ye, today labor is the money sucking pig of the world …things cost more but couple that with more things needing total replacement and new concepts like Serpantine belt systems and the like….a full restoration on one of these puppies will set you back more…..hey, it’s not us!  Don’t shoot!  Look at how much more that must be done…..and there’s no short cuts!

What does all this mean for our community?  Yep…..no need to say it…….……..Today, the word “full” restoration means more and more….. And all those things and more are what we are prepared to do.

More and more work we have is going that way.  New things, replacing worn out things and making them nice today……..

Fewer oil changes with more motor rebuilds……less new carpet but more new floors……  Our business and the condition of original condition coaches today have collided but still travelling in a reliable GMC is the cheapest toy in the box!  With new toaster boxes starting well over $100,000, GMC restorations are trending.  We want to continue our attention to detail so be prepared……..And the beat goes on.  See ya tomorrow
