Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

So youre thinking about picking up a GMC Motorhome……….do you have a few minutes?

……… I have calls like this every day.  I have no doubt many of you reading this have had this talk with me………. My office phone (hope to get rid of it soon) hangs up at 30 minutes and 30 seconds…….happens every time! Which means of course as much in the weeds I get here with stuff also happens in person when you ask questions concerning buying one of these.

Take alote of time but I feel strongly that I don’t want someone to bring a coach to me that does not understand what he and we are up against.  You must personally come to our shop and endure much explanation BEFORE we can accept your coach into our Q.

Why? ?I can tell anyone that any coach you bring in will need a list of things considered before we can call it road ready.  After 45 years there is no such thing as a “low mileage original condition reliable” ANYTHING!  Good SOP maintenance and a complete set of records only means it’s been in someone’s hands and used for 45 years.  Which means nothing, even?with good maintenance and records does not mean the coach is ready for the road today.  There are just so many other issues what it does mean it’s a cared for coach….hey and that’s good!

Today, most coaches come to us on a flat bed mainly because we want the coach just as it is……the drive to us may break something important.  From that point our focus is to “do it all” because whatever you do not assure is up for your requirements…..your’re just not ready and in harm’s way.

Doing this for 30 years, more and more coaches come in needing more things.  If you think about it of course that will be the case!  More use….more wear….more work….

Yeah, I know this may be boring to many of you but look, we have to help those coming into this community.  I can’t tell you how many call …..getting this from me and it takes them back a bit.  See……im NOT a car salesman….i would rather talk you OUT of following one of these puppies than walk into a wall of Crap ……it can and has happened.

So we can’t work with a coach 1/2 way.  It’s no longer about fixing what’s hanging off and ahip-it!  If you do that expect issues and be sure you at least prepare yourself by bringing a full tool set!

I need to get to work…..if you ARE one of those interested call me.  I want to help you understand what this is all about.  Hey it’s something a need to do

Maybe more fun things tomorrow……see ya then…….…….
