…….. The isn’t trashed but there are issues……what do ya do?
Not every coach project is a full restoration, what to do without taking up the floor. The interior was bad, it all came out …..as always the question isn’t what to do but where to stop……. This is a 1/2 plywood skin over the top of the original floor.
Were pulling more rear caps to give good access. If you’re doing a DIY project still pulling the rear hatch off will make things much easier if this far is where you’re going.
No getting an exterior refinish the goal here is not something like Ruby
there nestled into her own house in the UK……… No, this project is for a comfortable, custom interior in a descent survivor.
Less money involved but still good times to be had……..This was a core…..a $3000 purchase brought to us on a flat bed. Some would look at a coach like this and just not see where the value is
HERE is your value, an open platform with a flat floor read for you to put in anything you want. A classic dash and a classic body…..and from there take out your crayons kids and lets draw something nice……….
I first met a GMC from the inside, I saw what you see here, an awesome shaped vehicle with a clean sheet of paper to draw on…..that was in 1991, most coaches were green, yellow or some custom mauve……..Disco was over and if I had seen my first that way I may not have seen that real value…..thank goodness it was apart on jacks, from there…..well we’re here now and I’m excited on the coaches future. With a quality class A motorhome entry lever certainly over $100,000…….. A well appointed GMC is the “cheapest toy in the box”. For the same and less, you can whizz along the highway along with those RV liability pits and not have to freak out on depreciation! No, you can’t put $10,000 in a GMC and expect reliability or quality….what COULD YOU get…. But put in even 1/2 what it would take to get one of those toaster boxes into a GMC and brother trust me …..you will enjoy your ride.
That’s what’s its all about to me…….have a nice ride!………… And drive it! COST….will be less than any other way to get out and experience the road……
Robert is getting excited about the install video on the Serpantine belt installso be sure to watch when that gets posted……..
Thanks again for being a part of the Co-op or Motorhome Rehab Ranch or whatever you wanna call us. This has become a real movement….kinda like Also Guthries “Alice’s Restaurant”. You guys have kept this coach alive…..retro is here to stay and so are we!
See ya later
