So the radiator and alternator is out……

……Along with this radiator repair repair , being involved more in electrical generation ideas in the future, I’m installing something different.

Jason set me up with. CVF Racing upgrade new design small case 1 wire alternator with a V belt and a hyme joint adjustable bracket assembly. Not ready for the full Monty Serpantine belt system still I know I want the better alternator now. My direction is how to integrate some of these new reliability things on a budget. We also have planned next to swap over my working dash AC system with its piston compressor to a new rotary compressor ….seperatly.

Removal was a breeze having the core support cut and bolted together previously

A door hinge with short carriage bolts…..remove the pin and the core support…..yeah that bent bottom drops off……tranny lines need replacement with will be 2/8 steel lines from trans to the radiator. I’ll take them out to buy correct length brake lines. I had SS braided oil cooler lines that came right out. If yours doesn’t you know what to do. Btw, I didn’t need to lift the front and to remove the radiator….parked on a open drive.

Say goodbye big ole alternator……

btw, the only metric bolt on our coach when new was the 10mm nut on the original alternator. The tool set that was in the coach when I became steward had no metric size sockets or wrenches!

So pick me up here tomorrow when I hopefully put everything back together………hope spring eternal…

    Hey Jim,

I think many of us are in the same boat as you are with trying to decide what upgrades to do and in what order. We don’t have they cubic dollars to be able to everything at once.

Would you do a video and take us through the order of importance and when to make the upgrade. For example in my running stock coach that has clean gas tanks and new fuel lines you would for example change/ upgrade. Here are a list of things I have heard you talk about in your videos: Quad Air bags, Viair 380 compressor, single gas tank, EFI, AC compressor, alternator, fresh water pump, buzz box, CVF racing upgrade, GMC Yukon radiator, double belt alternator, final drive….

Yep, the question isn’t what to do but where to stop! And where to start! Seems that these past few posts have shown me in fact there are many more of us out there just trying to keep the beast running that blowing thru literally everything. So yes, that’s a new set of videos…..for us mere mortals! Stay tuned here and on upcoming videos.

    Jim

Can you talk about the CVF Racing upgrade new design small case 1 wire alternator with a V belt and a hyme joint adjustable bracket assembly in your next video.

Also maybe you talk about how to prioritize upgrades. Remembering that must of us out here do not have cubic dollars
