Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

You are here: Home / The Daily Pose / So it’s off to France, it’s going to be fun restoring it over seas……

November 7, 2021

So it’s off to France, it’s going to be fun restoring it over seas……

…….. As we have moved away from having coaches here for sale……..sorry but there’s no room!  This coach was purchased and left today being driven to Jacksonville to the ship.Chase truck following, a standard drive out service was contracted to drive the coach to port.   When the guts got here they were not prepared to drive an old machine like this.  Their paperwork said it was to be driven………… I gave him my cell phone number and a quick hours instruction…….still, a brave manand with that, this 1978 Royale center galley twin bed went away……. And it’s too bad this classic will miss a chance for a full restoration here in the states, hope we can at least help the new owner………..the coach is certainly worth putting the work into………

We’ve found our place is better spent explaining more about these classics so folks go into this with their eyes open.  A salesman can’t do that so we prefer to not get involved in that way.  Thru Motorhome Rehab Ranch we want to offer a video database and help reintroduce the GMC to the next generation of RV enthusiasts.

Wether you want an object for your frustrations looking to build one of these yourself or you just want to have a nice coach built, we want to help both of you.…….this will end up a nice machine…..if it’s done right…….

And on the subject of my tardiness on these posts….. I have no excuse other than being busy.  We’re making some big decisions to help do our job better both at the shop and here on the WWW.

Called “social networking” now I started these postings before I heard the word blog…… I may have called it Daily Blog or the Daily Post like some felt I screwed up when I types “Pose”.  But I wanted a snapshot of the day.  For folks with projects here and for those wanting to watch.  Whatever reason you’re here, thanks for your coming here.

I’ve always wanted to reach out through the TV screen and speak to you.  It worked and now we have a way to learn and see things…..and it seems to be working with help from my friends….and all of you.

A bit of redefining my roll in this all, I hope new we can have the tools to keep our machine on the road.Alan came in to play with Abbey a bit, Johnathan there spent a couple of days at the shop getting some first hand knowledge before he starts his 76 restoration himself.  You know you guys can drive down and spend a few days with us to check things out…..gimme a call……while Alan was cutting us some body molding he let Johnathan move around her pinkie…….. Next she cuts dash overlays…..stay tuned

it was sunny but cold this morning.  I remember now why I live in Florida…..a high today below 60…….how do you guys do it!  Eleganza is a short hair but she sure didn’t act cold dragging me around the pasture for like an hour!  We both endured……

Tomorrow the Airstream goes home.  Mechanical complete…..shes a rocket…..now it goes home for its interiorbeen here since Covid began, aluminum intake, fuel injection, Serpantine belt system, brakes……its a fun ride now……so tomorrow starts it new life……..ride on man…..

Thanks for the support and we’ll see ya later
