Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

You are here: Home / Restorations / Gallery / GMC Motorcoach Projects / Blueocity

Blueocity

The name is “Blue-ocity” and don’t you forget it.  Why do we call it blue when it looks silver?  Keep looking —  This is Mercedes metallic blue pearl flip-flip paint, expensive but hey, it makes the coach.  Is it silver or is it blue–yes!

More than a pretty face though, Blue-ocity has other attributes.  Want a little awning    or a lotta awning — you got it at the push of a button.  This is the first Zip Dee “New Century” armless auto deploying to 10″ modified to fit a GMC.  This is not a rickety, no name “works but” situation– this is the real thing — baby!

Expensive but again, it makes the coach.  Lets put it this way, would you use your awning more if all you had to do was pull out the remote and push the button?  You betcha!

Blue-ocity was a project not to build a inexpensive but nice coach, if its new, if its convenient and if its top of the line– it was included.  This is what can be done with a GMC.  Expensive but still much much less than buying a “slab sided” sales drive RV industry standard coach– and what do you have when you do that?  A depreciating pig and drives like a truck and looks like— well it will not look like this!  This is the best example of what we do and why we do it.  If you want the best ride on the road with all of the goodies we all have grown accustomed to– here it is.

Now you can’t have a boring dash on a coach like this, I mean you need to know stuff like where you are going using GPS , who is behind you with a split screen to the rear view camera and of couse you need satellite generated speed calculations including acceleration and lateral G force readouts with min/max hold and if all that fails to impress you, the Direct TV is playing a movie or pop in a DVD Of course if you are forced, you could watch the mere mortal gauges and drive the coach but there must be more than that?  Oh yes there is, the lap top interface to the direct port fuel injection on the Koba II motor if you really get bored hey, there’s a lote to do over there in the drivers seat!  Could have put in a periscope but I think the satellite downlink is enough.

OK, how bout something to do for the rest of the folks in the coach?  Well, they could always look over the drivers shoulder and have fun with that or sit in comfort in the bedroom and watch Direct TV or the DVD on the 13″ Aquos flat screen and of course if you left your glasses the 20″ Aquos front TV can service you .  Got a cook on board?  The galley invites you to play with all of its toys .  1 1/4″ solid butcher block counter, high end faucet with sprayer, 3 burner recessed stainless steel stove top, microwave with pull out toaster, 6.6cf 3 way Norcold fridge and a fantastic fan above to carry off the steam.  Johnny & Damian C. would be right at home.

Make no mistake though, this coach is much more than a mere “motorhome”, oh sure it has a bathroom/shower, beds, galley, dinette, bunk, and all of that— but you can have all of that and class too!

You say you want flat screens , want one in the bedroom that you can see laying down , oh and you want a Bose surround sound and in motion satellite

and a monitor in dash with GPS, slit screen backup camera and DVD?  Want all of that— bunky– well then track down Blueocity because it has it all plus laminate floors a killer dinette  sofa with bunk did I tell you about the custom rear cross cabinet?  Am I proud or this baby– well what do you think?  Blueocity is the name and I like it.

I could take great pains to describe the nuances this coach has but hey, just take a look and use your imagination– its all in there.  Another fantastic example of what a GMC can do.
