Rather than looking all over to find parts custom made to fit our motorhome, I like the idea of making off shelf parts fit our coach…..that way you can replace that part down the road…..

……. Sound like an easy solution to all these parts going obsolete and not being able to get going when you break down on the road.  That’s what really separates a viable travel vehicle from a museum piece….. You can fix it if you can’t get parts!

Her is one part we have been trying t

to find a viable option for…….radiators…

To make an market you have to break a few eggs and when it comes to finding a suitable off shelf radiator that can be had at most auto parts houses we put in the time and money in the search for the elusive combinationWith the guys cleaning up they gathered up all the radiators tried in our search.  Not sure what to do with them all…..they won’t work in a GMC…..we proved that.

This worksand so does thisA true OEM off shelf radiator and an all aluminum version…….we have them both working!

Now the challenge will be to put this new idea into a DIY field installable kit.  If you’re interested in something like this for your coach call in and get on a list….. We’d like to see how much interest there is.

Currently, the only option is a custom made aluminum radiator that kinda scares me.  A conventional radiator record has become less viable with the industry changing to having manufacturer made off shelf aluminum radiators…..a custom radiator cannot be repaired or replaced when you need one.  These are things you need to think about out there on that hiway breakdown zone!

Nuff on that….hey Lincoln where did your coach go?yep, it was sitting right here!  Oh….didnt get far…..So the guys got you fired up…..setting up the new FiTech fuel injection….burping the new radiator system you saw above they sat there a good hour getting the motor up to temp to get it into auto program mode…….they got right to the door to go outside……and they ran outa gas!

Douuuuuuu!  Happens to us too.  ……fresh timing chain, water pump, radiator, coolers, aluminum intake, FiTech fuel injection and the CVF Serpantine belt system in a 454 Chevy in this Argosy/Airstream tribute coach…..its been a long time coming….our last non GMC project I hope it fires up soon…..stay tuned…..

and after 2 1/2 YEARS of putting this project together she fired up yesterday…..on the ground with new slippers….oh man this is a smooth ride for sure.I have no doubt the owner has name this beauty…..id call it the “Smooth Ride”… Refunded to the point that I think the word “Smoorh” does it for me……whatever, everyone involved in this project feels the pride in this finished outcome.  Stay tuned as it hits the door……

So I’m late, I need to get to work…… More happening that we can shake a stick at, come back and check it out…..hey and thanks Gor your support
