Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

You are here: Home / Parts. <<<<<< Sorry, we are no longer in the parts sales business / Exterior Parts / Exterior body molds

Exterior body molds

The exterior body panels of the GMC are made of aluminum and sheet mold counpound (SMC) plastic.  The front and rear caps as well as the panels below the body side molding are all this SMC plastic.

These molds are designed to be used with a 100 ton oil heated press.  They are a total aggregate weight of @ 450,000 pounds of chrome plated steel!  These molds have been in storage here in Orlando over over 2 decades.  They have changed hands a couple of times and now it’s our turn to do something with them.

With these molds many options are possible ……. New technologies and processes may breath new life into these molds for the future

Our hope is to have these 450,000 pounds of molds brought to our facility where we can clean them, catalog what we have and start a process of putting them into use.

Through generous donations we have an LLC set up for these and the molds we produced some years ago for the “Duramax” coaches we built…you might remember these badass coaches    These molds will also be something for the community.   If you are interested in making your coach look like these above give us a call.

And if you would like to support our efforts to bring these mold back to use, join us….make a contribution in our coaches future.  When we get more organized we’ll have hats and T shirts to show our gratitude for your contribution.

Lets keep the dream alive!
